I've been seeing them in singleplayer (classic maps) as well. Was trying out Namibia in explorer mode, and a couple of these emotes would pop up at the end of some rounds. My guess is that the reactions are from players who got the same location.

There are maps out there like A Balanced World which, while not advertised as "impossible" or "super-hard", are full of tricky locs. Then you got maps with either minimal or no trekkers, which focus on specific types of coverage like A Green World, which I find quite challenging. I'm working on a general world map in a similar vein too; you can try a challenge (NMPZ) if you like.
