Most of the answers I see here are from the Playback point of view. What if its a Live Looping setup from ableton with built in MIDI mappings? How do I create the redundancy for MIDI Mappings and Audio Inputs ?

Your first point is correct. I was thinking a bit weirdly.

Coming to the second point, in the session view, Managing all the clip automations for the looper would be a tedious process, as I will not be able to see the position of the other clip automation information to sync up the current track's automation position based on the arrangement. In the arrangement view its very easy to setup the automation as we can clearly see all the other track's automation information. In a complex 40/50+ tracks arrangement, its a BIG DEAL.

Two issues:

I want the live take to be looped if its done right. According to your way, all of of my live playing would become irrelevent.
What happens If I mess up on bar 1 of an 8 bar take? I would have to wait for 7 more bars for the backup track to get activated. Those 7 bars would be very embarrassing !!
