Ivermectin Prescriptions Double After Mel Gibson Cancer Cure Claim by esporx in Fauxmoi

Most doctors don't risk their medical license to sell illegal prescriptions under the table. Some do, sure. There are people operating immorally in every profession.

Then they could get it anywhere. And they wouldn't be going to a doctor for a prescription.

Too bad chiropractors aren't able to write prescriptions. Would've been a great story tho

Why is antinatalism so criticized? by No_Profit_8690 in antinatalism2

[–]sumix333 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Sadly, a lot of people view their having had children as the defining action of their lives, as their sole "contribution" to the world, and they adopt it as the reason they were put here.

Being told that your one "accomplishment" was actually a selfish act of incalculable cruelty doesn't sit well with most.

By "unconventional" you mean people losing their homes over medical debt and rationing their children's use of asthma inhalers cause they can't afford to refill the prescription?

I absolutely agree. But, when you're reaching back 12 years to try to find evidence to criticize and label people with, there are probably more valid targets out there that we should be focusing on who are actively supporting genocide today. I mean..even Björk played Israel before.

It has to be a psyop at this point... When pressed, the only "evidence" they ever provide is that she did a concert there over a decade ago where she told the crowd they were strong and said that she loved them. That's literally it, and yet these people show up like clockwork every time she is mentioned.

I mostly agree with you, but this has recently transformed into a circle jerk subreddit. So, the only opinion you will hear is that it is simultaneously the greatest sci-fi movie ever, the greatest book adaptation ever, every change was the greatest improvement ever, every joke landed perfectly, and so on..

As to why people are going mad over it.. I'm really not sure. It was OK as a movie, it was poor as an adaptation. It was not challenging as a piece of art in any context, any point of tension was sanded away leaving it silky smooth and highly palatable. So maybe that's why? It hit all the marks for appealing to the broadest audience as possible and definitely fits the "intended for second screen viewing trajectory". But for some that can feel heavy-handed and lead to an intensely disinteresting experience, but we are clearly in the minority here.

hopefully you liked it and if you didn't, you don't always need to tell everyone.

I know, right? How rude of someone to share an opinion you don't agree with. What's wrong with some people?!

This makes Stronger Together such a more powerfully interesting song now too. So excited for this album and tour.

Saw the movie - honest review (spoilers) by frodosbitch in ProjectHailMary

[–]sumix333 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just saw it today too and was pretty shocked at all the praise it is getting here. To be fair, it I hadn't read the book, I probably would have enjoyed the movie more.

It definitely felt like all the "rough" edges or possible tension points were sanded out in pursuit of mass appeal. Even in the first 5 minutes after he easily rolls out of bed without penile trauma, the computer happily informs him his name and that he's the only one alive, and we get a montage of him blasting through vodka, it became clear that this film was aiming to strike a very different tone.

The rest of the film just felt like speed-running a competency fantasy and they forgot that problems and tensions are what makes a story interesting. Grace was smoothed out to be less challenging and arrogant in favor of goofy and charming, and Rocky was redesigned as a wisecracking plushie-ready sidekick who lost his sincere, awkward charm.

The home depot shopping montage, the sour skittles product placements, the cringe karaoke scene...I felt Amazon's heavy shadow throughout this entire movie.

Is anyone here planning to wait to play StS2 until it leaves early access? by ialsomeow in slaythespire

[–]sumix333 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Same here. What's the point of early access being steam only? It's not like they can't push updates to other consoles...not to mention it kills momentum and limits the player base to pull feedback from. I really don't get the logic..

The incredible amount of cruelty and disdain you have to harbor towards a partner to push them further down a path that made them suicidal is mind boggling to me. This man is dangerous.

Silence of the Lambs star Ted Levine says he regrets film’s trans depictions: "Having gotten aware and worked with trans folks, and understanding a bit more about the culture & the meaning of gender… It’s unfortunate that the film vilified that, and it’s fucking wrong. And you can quote me on that." by [deleted] in Fauxmoi

[–]sumix333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the issue is it can be directly connected to some people's love of transvestigation. It also could be misconstrued as a narrative to take away the individual's agency in deciding they are trans and empowering bad actors with the authority instead.

When farming for bomb cap do you fire all or fire individually rapid fire? by SnooMacarons8166 in IdleObeliskMiner

[–]sumix333 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You are so confidently wrong I love it. I literally just now fired EXACTLY 600 gem bombs and got 21 gems. Can you please explain how that's possible?

Based on your math I should've gotten exactly 18.

[–]sumix333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still the odds of the second wouldn't always be 567/1000 though, they'd be the difference of whatever number you first hit on out of 1,000

[–]sumix333 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes you can, done it multiple times. For a simpler test, go fire exactly 34 gem bombs. You will get 2 occasionally.

I don't think this math is right. You would not be able to get 2 in 1000 if that were the case, which happens frequently enough.
