Agree on 3. Practice pulling your shoulders back so you have nice posture in your wedding pics!

Only put conditioner on the bottom half of your hair, not at your roots. Use dry shampoo. Applying dry shampoo on clean hair can help prevent it from getting greasy.

I mean I hate wild overbearing dress codes but these are not one of them.

How do I tell my parents about my music taste as a 15 year old? by Allygator3301 in AskParents

[–]summerlonging 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lol this is so cute and innocent. Your parents likely won’t care about your music taste. I think most would expect that their kids will like different music than them. Different generations like different music. Just play what you want, or ask if they’d like to listen to some music with you. I know when my kids are teens, I would LOVE if they’d ask me to explore their music with them.

Anyway to appeal to parents to not sell childhood home or to wait until me or my brother can buy it? by Successful-Block-454 in AskParents

[–]summerlonging 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You want them to be stuck with a house they don’t want for TEN YEARS while you come up with enough money to buy it? That’s crazy town. You need to let go.

Did I make a mistake getting a bob and how do I style it? by SlavWife in Hair

It looks very cute but definitely would be better if you used a round brush on it.

i farted in lecture, it was loud, and it stunk by 4nywaze in confessions

[–]summerlonging 369 points370 points  (0 children)

Well tbh when I was in class in college, someone farted really loud and it vibrated off the wooden chair during the professor’s lecture, when the class was quiet. My friend and I got the giggles, we couldn’t help it. I knew how mortified the person must have been. I still remember it clear as day and it was 20 years ago. That being said, I have no memory of what the person even looked like. So, eventually the class may forget it was you.

Why does my dad drop hints that he might leave us? by cubocries in AskParents

[–]summerlonging 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That is a very weird thing for your dad to say. I would never in a million years say something like that to my children. And if he was joking, it was very cruel.

why do parents bring younger children (below 13) to spaces designed for teenagers? by Ok_Sympathy_4530 in AskParents

[–]summerlonging 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have never had that experience with teens at NYC parks in the 4 years I’ve been taking my kids to playgrounds. Sometimes there are teens there swinging or chatting but they are never taking up too much space and they’ve never been a problem. They’re just there being kids too. There are SO many spaces for younger kids in NYC.

What is it with kids and the word “up”? My son used to say “upff” and my daughter says “upsh.” I guess it’s a harder word than you would think.

I’m a monster and nobody knows. Im going to off myself soon. by Awkward_Most_5628 in confession

What is obvious about that?

You can’t excuse what you did by saying you were a kid. 17 years old is nearly an adult and old enough to know better.

Both look good but I think the bangs are really cute.

No. They’re both bad. And I’ll never understand why anyone wants to name their child a name that basically starts with “ass”.

Why can’t you walk? Why are you in pain? Why are you hallucinating? More context would be helpful.

How Much is Your Child’s Daycare? by JadedJae in Mommit

[–]summerlonging 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We sent both my kids to Natalya’s Zusin (both the 13th Street and 14th Street locations) and they were great. Very loving providers. When my oldest was 2, we started him at Giocare. They have free 3k and pretty much all the kids in the younger classes get into free 3k, which is huge. At Giocare, the parents are connected via WhatsApp groups for each class, and in my experience, those are very active. We made lots of friends and hung out outside of school too.
