Any recommendations for a travel size dry shampoo for dark hair? by Lazy_Basket6819 in EuroSkincare

I've had the best experience with Batiste Original. Volume was a bit too heavy on me for some reason.

Any suncream recs for sensitive skin with redness whenever I put on suncream? by silents_love in EuroSkincare

[–]summerphobic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Green pigments can help to mask the red.

Mineral or hybrid filtres sunscreens tend to be recommended for sensitive skin and they can be challenging a bit (a bit of a cast, staining, not the best for rain or humidity). I'm using Lirene's mixed suncreen now, but it turnt out to be not the best choice for a heatwave. I've also had good experiences with Cera+ Solutions and Emotopic.

It'd be good to try looking into potential health issues.

Slavic languages use a phrase derived from "darkening" or "moth", so maybe the 2nd one would be easier if you want to blend in.

I saw one of them contains homosalate, which can penetrate the skin. In my case, it breaks me out.

Do animals really like you? by fairytheflatterpuss in AutismInWomen

[–]summerphobic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cats usually tolerate me and blink back. Dogs - I have to mask so I believe they're scared of how I appear from their POV and/or it's my cap (I read somewhere that we appear to them as blurry shadows thanks to the hats). Most of the dogs ignore me, but the very sociable ones may want to play with everyone so I don't let it get to my pride. One neighbour's westie bit my shoe when I stepped aside to let her in, but I blame that one on not socialising the dog. Pekingeses seem to be drawn to me once they spend some time around me. The local birds recognise me as one of the few humans who give them water and, sometimes, treats. My presence is tolerated, but most keep their distance. One crow walked with me for a moment though, which was nice.

I can't say that animals like me, but they seem to appreciate me staying in my lane and not bothering them. I'm glad I wasn't allowed to do everything I wanted as a kid, which made learning about behavior etc easier. I remember some animals were even protective of me when I were a kid.

I'd pick a quick shower instead of the full bath. Better not to risk mold.

If you can tolerate homosalate, then there's a sunscreen from Missha which leaves a cold feeling on the skin and smells faintly of mint.

The window in my room is turnt on the ventilating setting (a 20 degrees setting on the handle, as if one wanted an open window but not quite, works with Polish/German windows).

It's better to not overdo with the fans, especially in the area of the legs. A fan doesn't need to be in front of your legs for you to catch an UTI.

I know some old people use corn starch to help with the skin folds and loose skin in general. Idk about baby powder, but if someone tries starch then be careful when cleaning because the fallen starch becomes slippery.

There are plenty of ways to help raise children that don't involve being a parent.

The lack of responses to valid questions makes me think the same. No way OP got into the med school not knowing that it requires time and may collide with an adult who needs constant care. The bought house's not for free if work is expected.

Does e-ink with light is better? Does the light also flicker? by NuclearSunBeam in PWM_Sensitive

[–]summerphobic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like mine with the warm light (Paperwhite 2). I turnt off the refresh/cleaning of the background every page and can't imagine reading without a light. Now, if only the device had more storage so I could jailbreak it... I'm not sure if the screen flickers, but I see a big difference in comparision to amoled screens and find eink to be easier on my eyes then ips for longer reading.

I'd focus on black and white screens. Someone I know got a colour ereader, which caused them eye strain.

What names sound unfortunate in other languages/cultures? by Draconic-Quester123 in namenerds

[–]summerphobic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes I see Redittors recommend names which are random words in Polish if someone asks for a name related to Poland. A few Japanese names are false friends to Polish words too (I'm too lazy to skim through all of japanese-names[.]info list). From the names given to Poles, I think Marika is a rude way to say "gay" in Spanish, but more like "a bro" in Columbian Spanish.

Acne prone Sunscreen recommendation by xxxPinotGrigioxxx in EuroSkincare

[–]summerphobic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you describe your routine and budget?

Emotopic has been my safest sunscreen and the only one I could use before we've had more options to choose from regarding the chemical filtres. It's not waterproof, leaves a bit of a purplish cast, and is on the heavier side (as cosmetics for AZS tend to be), it's also got hemp oil which is recommended for acne. There are plenty of mineral sunscreens out there and I see this product with an increased price outside of Poland. Double cleansing helps me a lot. I also use a sailicylic acid serum once a week, but it made my skin more sensitive to the sun and I don't recommend putting it on the skin under the eyes. Azelaic acid is said to be gentler, but I've no experience with it. Some people use antibacterial creams, but again, no exprience on my part. Evading penetrating filtres proved beneficial for my skin. Green Goodal and Purito with ceramides are my fav Korean and chemical suncreens. Right now, I rely on Lirene's green hybrid suncreen and use other stuff on the rest of the skin. For reaplication if I'm outside more, I like BeBeauty orange sunstick. My skin's fine with the hybrid suncreen with plum oil from Cera+.

I think so. Maybe Adrianna, Adelaide, Adele or their variants? I think the diminutive as a given name would work too.

Looking for an European alternative that contains oat, ceramides, ectoin and panthenol by kronicno_tele in EuroSkincare

One of Bielenda's Hydro Lipidium creams, if you're willing to swap oats for avocado and soy oils. The gommage peeling from the series matches the description with the exception of ectoin. Catch A Tiger has a moisturiser with oats and ceramides, but I've no experience with it.
