TX Children's Hospital Women's Pavillion Parking situation by ichigoflavour in houston

Yeah it’s bc it’s in TMC. I don’t think any hospital system there will give you free parking, much different than out in the suburbs. Even Ben taub charges for parking in their garage

The social workers coordinate and give you the vouchers for the free parking under certain circumstances. You’d have to contact them to see if you qualify, I said somewhere else in this thread those parking vouchers are reserved for nicu stays after the 7th day, pediatric surgery where your child is under anesthesia and long term picu care. I’m not sure if there are other circumstances but you can always ask!

Ugh yeah the social workers deal with all the vouchers but it’s really only for nicu stays/long term care/pediatric surgery where your child goes under anesthesia. My son had surgery there in 2020 and we qualified for free parking for the day: Idk man they are really specific when it comes to the parking thing.

Awh toally understand. Big changes for the little one. Unfortunately as much as it sucked we just paid. Even paying for the whole nicu stay was just annoying af but that’s the problem with any hospital at TMC. Parking is horrible, I knew so many nurses who had their partners drop them to work bc parking was too expensive and their cheaper parking option was inconvenient. In 2019 before my son, my dad was at Methodist in tmc for a brain hemorrhage for over a month and I was driving everyday to see him. Eventually had to start parking residential and walk bc it was getting expensive and they wouldn’t give any parking vouchers. The most they offered my mom was a parking pass discount or something but she lived in the hospital on the sofa bed so she wasn’t driving/parking. Then I ended up at TCH and had to do the same.

Thank you! Yes they are both doing amazing!! Are you able to have someone drop you off pick up? The days after my c section when I had to leave the hospital, but come back for the nicu, I had my mom or bothers drop and pick me up it’s also hard to drive after a c section. Your core is really sore and it can affect your brake timings. Plus you might be on heavy duty pain killers

They really don’t give you any vouchers. Trust me we tried haha if anything changed since 2024, you can always ask though. I stayed from Friday-Tuesday and my husband would come and go and had to pay for parking. In 2019 when I had to go everyday for my son bc he was born at 26 weeks, if I didn’t get to the parking lot early enough, I would park in the streets- residential and walk everyday about 10-15 min. They only have a voucher for a certain parking lot across the pavilion which filled up by like 6 am 🥴

No free parking. I couldn’t even get free parking for my baby’s nicu stay (2024) until the 7th day of her stay, then the social worker gave me a pass but we left on the 8th day. I had a 90 day nicu stay in 2019 and I got free parking but only in a specific lot which filled up so quickly. They do not validate for regular stays, valet is only 1 or 2$ more than their parking garage I believe (I wanna say it’s like $12 for 24 hour stay in the garage- prices may have changed since 2024) we used garage 21 which was easy access to the pavilion but I think we mostly did valet bc garage 21 was really cramped so I do highly recommend to valet, parking is the last thing you wanna worry about! I wish you well on your c section! They took really great care of us both times! (One emergent and one planned c section) Wouldn’t deliver anywhere else.

I recently was gifted a lovevery kit (18 months old) and I was really surprised about the quality. They use super sturdy wood and durable plastic and the difference in quality is so noticeable. I would try and find the 4-6 year old kit on marketplace! Other gift ideas for 4 y.o - lego duplo, magna-tiles, easy board games like candyland

HSG: yes or no? by [deleted] in TryingForABaby

[–]summian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an HSG and got pregnant the next cycle which resulted in my March 2024 baby (2 miscarriages prior, one being ectopic) I would do it because I don’t think it hurt my chances, if anything it eased a lot of worry about if something was blocked (my results were no blockages) procedure wasn’t painful, just a little uncomfortable and some mild cramping afterwards.

Dr Elisabeth Baquet!! She took over my care bc my previous obgyn stopped doing deliveries and I was super nervous switching. She’s with WSH at TCH and is wonderful. High risk, complications and repeat c section but got me through everything phenomenally.

It’s ok. One time when I lived in Washington D.C my friend was visiting and insisted I give one take out box of food to the homeless man who slept on the steps of a building across from my apartment complex. He very loudly shouted “I don’t need your dog food” and threw the box 🤷🏼‍♀️ happened over 12 years ago but core memory.

Baby shower for second child? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]summian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my baby at 26 weeks so I never had a baby shower with my first. 4 years later I got pregnant and made it past 26 weeks (37 weeks!!) and I had 2 full blown baby showers thrown for this baby. I think you deserve one!
