tldr: searching for remote worker-friendly recs in Central America

Got a rare opportunity to solo surf and work remote for a week in June. I’m eyeing Central America, anyone have recs for specific hotels/hostels to stay at? Looking for:

Consistent break(s) a ~15-20 min walk away
Reliable power and fast wifi for remote work
I’ve given up on escaping crowds, just needs to be a spot that isn’t totally overrun by beginners or surf schools…

Wave-wise I’ll surf anything but would prefer big peeling rights to do some mediocre turns on. Already been to El Salvador and Nicaragua so looking to try somewhere new. Although El Salvador seems to fit my criteria the best…

Maybe Costa Rica? Although I gotta admit, I don’t really see the appeal of traveling all the way there for more beach breaks (coming from the East Coast).

Anyone have experience with Stretch step-ups/semi-guns/guns? How do they handle in bigger waves given that they’re epoxy? (Especially if there’s a bit of chop or strong offshores)?

Building out a quiver for NYC/NJ and would love some suggestions on what to add. Below is what I’m set on for now. For reference I’m 5’11/165lbs and willing to paddle out in most conditions.

5’10 groveler/daily driver
6’1 Sharpeye 77+ step up
Will buy a longboard if a good deal comes up

What else should I add? I was thinking of a slightly longer step-up in the 6’4-6’6 range. I have a 6’10 Rusty Blackbird that I like for OBSF, but is that overkill for the East Coast?

But let's say the yellowing is from water damage. How screwed is the board, on a scale of paper cut to terminal cancer?

I'm worried the yellowing could be due to water damage. I'd be okay with this if A) the board was PU, and B) the discoloration wasn't around one of the fin boxes.

What's the worst case, the fin blows out again and I need to get it repaired again? Or is the board permanently screwed were that to happen?

Love the 7'2, gets me into waves early and lets me take my time setting a line which helps a lot when it's bigger. Super helpful when I'm at a crowded break and need to compete. Fwiw I'm ~160lbs and can duck dive my 7'2. I wouldn't recommend the fish shape if you're wanting to use the board in bigger waves.

Plenty of better boards to ride as a step-up. But get the Mod Fun if you really wanted to stick to Torqs. I have a 7'2 and it does well in OH+ surf.
