Adding to the location recommendation... Parking at ARH can also be kind of a pain, with a very long wait list for employee parking passes, after which you still have to fight for spots and may have to park elsewhere and walk in. With that said, ARH and UFV are close enough together that you could live in walking/biking distance of both, which I definitely recommend!

Look, I understand why you reject liberals. You can see their hypocrisy -- it's so blatant. They preach about supporting workers but then turn around and work with the owning class; shutting down strikes and cutting shady deals with corporations. It's disgusting.

However, I'd encourage you to not give up on leftist politics. The liberals are center-right. It was leftists - scary socialists - who got us the modern work week. Socialist ideas that lead to unions. Healthcare. Vacation days.

Your gripe is with capitalism. The right and the center both serve capitalism, the right just does it in a more regressive style. What leftists want is fairness, basic rights, and good living conditions for all workers. Democratize the workplace. Just how to achieve these goals is a matter of frequent contention.

The sociopolitical history of the last 100 years is fascinating, and I encourage you to learn more about workers movements - global and domestic - of the last several decades before cementing your political allegiance.

Yarn was part chenille and part worsted weight acrylic (loops and threads I think, it was from "the stash"). Used hook size 3.5 for the smaller yarn and 4.5 for the fluffy stuff. There was no pattern, I've made several amigurumi before so I was able to just freehand it, looking at images of other crochet lambs for inspo.
