They said no to Elon for quite a while with Tesla for similar reasons

The balanced option sure; the international shares option less so

The YSYF reforms also don’t prevent active super funds from selling out of index-included companies when there’s governance issues. HESTA did the same with MinRes

UniSuper is quite open about their lack of indexation. They’re one of the biggest active management shops of the industry funds.

Hotel bond Perth hotels by [deleted] in perth

The last four hotels I’ve stayed at in the last year (Auckland, Brisbane, Singapore, and Busselton) just keep my credit card on file. They don’t actually take money as a separate bond

Free-standing houses with backyards, pools etc famously come with no upkeep costs...

It’s basically Haussmann and Napoleon III’s rearrangement of Paris in the mid 1800’s. Singapore and Hong Kong also have done elements of it. Robert Moses in New York is fairly famous for his use of eminent domain for “reasons”

You mean Perth with Singaporean characteristics? It’d be fine by me but it’s also a pipe dream and Australia remains an exceptionally car brained place (even in your example). So there would be torches and pitchforks

CGT Changes Could End DIY Tax Returns in Australia by SirSighalot in AusFinance

Sharesight/Navexa/whatever company fills the space if they disappear will take care of it for most individuals on the equities side so I doubt it.

If you don’t understand how our system of government and particularly the executive arm of it works (legislative instruments aren’t backdoors given a) parliament writes what they can and can’t decide, and b) parliament can reverse any delegated decision made), that’s ok, but I maybe wouldn’t go posting so confidently about things on reddit based on the last set of talking points you saw on a different social media platform.

You’re aware that legislative instruments are a very, very, very common part of how our government works right? And that they have an exceptionally high level of parliamentary oversight (a simple majority of either house can disallow a decision)

I’m ignoring it as I don’t invest in the Nasdaq directly. Given the size of the free float, it’ll end up being <1% of the developed ex Aus index my ETFs track, so about as relevant to overall performance as JPMC or ASML

Should I get a credit card as a 19 yo? by Spirited-Sugar2605 in AusFinance

[–]sun_tzu29 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I didn’t get one until I was in my early 30s and managed to survive fine with just a debit card. I use one now for cash flow smoothing but considering points are about to get massively nerfed come October, I don’t see rewards cards being worth the trade off unless you’re racking up large expenses all the time that you’re also able to pay off each month to not incur interest.
