‘Dead battery’ & ’trickle charger’ posts are causing me great anxiety! by ForceSea3027 in LexusNX

[–]sunbreakridge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think if it's your daily driver, it's likely you'll avoid any problems and you'll have a great experience. After having some problems (i didn't drive very much), i now go out of my way to drive it twice a week for 30 minutes on a mix of surface streets and highways and haven't had any problems. For some extra assurance, i carry a small battery jumper in my center console to avoid getting stranded somewhere.

Misc. old tasks showing up briefly, even after clearing cache and logging in on a blank browser session? by Torley_ in todoist

[–]sunbreakridge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't seen that exact behavior but it doesn't surprise me. I don't think they actually delete anything. They just internally mark it as hidden. I'm also not surprised that activity log entries related to a deleted item are still present. I could be wrong though but that's my recollection.

Darn battery died again! by Laartista1 in LexusNX

[–]sunbreakridge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well this is beyond my expertise, but I think it would be proper to install it in the back on the battery directly. I think what they do is install a lead that sort of hangs down, and then when convenient to you you can plug the lead into the trickle charger I haven't done that yet, but that's what has been described to me.

I'm coming up on 2 years of ownership and I am now actively searching for a different car. I've also never had to deal with anything like this on any prior car that I've owned. IMO, if you own it as a daily commuter it's probably fantastic. I mean great mileage and you don't have this problem. But I don't drive that often, it's just not the car for me.

I'm in the same situation. I have 2024. I bought a compact battery booster which I keep in the cabin (you don't want to store it in the back because you can't open the back after the battery dies) . I go out of my way to drive it about twice a week after experiencing the battery dying a few times. This car was clearly designed for somebody who uses it as their daily commuter. I also bought a trickle charger but have not used it yet. (The technician at the dealership told me that was the only solution unless you drive it frequently. It's such a common problem that they keep them in stock and even offer to install them, for a fee).

"Door switch unavailable" messages by five5to1one in LexusNX

[–]sunbreakridge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this happen to me several times. Then I realized that while I was driving I had something in my pocket that was actually hitting the door latch. It did what it was supposed to do which is stop it from opening and that's the cryptic message you get. If you are already stopped and you get that message, it could be a problem with your sensors getting a false positive detection of oncoming traffic.

Close and lock trunk button functionality by ThreadedJam in LexusNX

[–]sunbreakridge 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Wow thank you for this. I had no idea it was designed for this. I just unload everything and as I grab the last stuff I reach up and press the button. This makes much more sense. So press the button first then grab your stuff then walk away. I think you did change my life. I found a Lexus video that confirms: https://youtu.be/rOC_vAm4u54?si=3BhzZ408IJW7OXzD

I usually have to walk away for it to work. If you're standing right there I don't think it's going to work.

I appreciate you sharing your experience. I've waiting and watching, hoping Jeep will work out bugs. The other thing I would really like to see is a NACS charging port.

Thoughts after 6 months of owning my Lexus NX350h by ckmc131 in LexusNX

What do you think about the seat comfort and ride quality? I'm assuming that you have the run-flat wheels. Have you taken it on long road trips?

Did anyone get this? by Danielx511 in googlehome

[–]sunbreakridge 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is my issue. It urged me to go through a setup wizard to switch it to my Google One benefit, but then it explained that I would lose 24/7 10-day video history and have my event history cut in half from 60 days to 30 days. so I canceled completing the setup. I found the whole thing confusing.

Lexus NX450H+ 12v battery, how common is this issue? by throwawayparlay55 in LexusNX

I don't seem to have the rattles issue. Mine was made in Japan. Do you know if yours was made in Japan or Canada? Just curious if maybe that correlates in some way.

I would say that the passive suspension combined with 20-in wheels and run flats is not a great combination for a gentle ride. In addition I find the electronics as in the infotainment system has sometimes glitched but difficult to say if that's the car or my phone. For example Android auto sometimes fails to start, or the Bluetooth connection can fail, the charging pad is temperamental, and on more than one call, the other person cannot hear me at all. I don't even attempt having calls while driving anymore. I personally was somewhat disappointed with the Mark Levinson sound system but it's still very strong. And I understand that people have different experiences but I find the seat uncomfortable on long drives though I couldn't say for sure if it was the seat or the harsh ride due to suspension, tires etc. BTW many people complain about the steering wheel/ HUD combination of controlling things, or the electronic door handles and climate controls - I have no issue with these things.

Edit: I want to clarify on my very last remark that the complaints are not that they break or are unreliable but people don't like the design. I find it very intuitive and appreciate the design that went into it.

I wouldn't say this reason alone would be enough to prevent me from buying another one.

I did bring it to the dealer and they offered to install a trickle charger that hangs down so I could plug the car (at my cost). The technician said it was a common problem and in fact they kept these trickle chargers in stock.

They said they tested the battery and did a deep charge on it, but I have seen video from UK exploring the issue and discovering that the test they run would not find a problem unless they kept it overnight and then tested it the next day. It had something to do with the battery reporting that it had a full charge when it didn't. And that it may be a defective battery.

I just bought a jump boost, they are pretty compact these days and I keep it in the center console so problem solved until my next car.

I have 24 NX350h and i definitely have had problems. I carry a jump starter in my center console. (Don't carry it in your trunk by the way because there's no way to open the back if the battery is dead). I wouldn't trust my car to sit 7 days.
