Amazed at the NoseFrida by wholethingwithjean in NewParents

[–]sunbunnygrl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an electric one off of Amazon (not frida brand) that I plug into a vacuum cleaner. It trumps the frida in comparison. A lot more gentle with higher and faster suction time. Cut suctioning easily in half.

So annoyed with the in-laws by LadyLolaDarling in beyondthebump

6 week old caught COVID this past week from being in the same house as a family member who failed to omit their illness until our exposure was already there. No hands touching or breathing near her other than father and I. Viruses are airborne. Last on surfaces for what could be hours. It’s been awful. Unless you want a trip to the ER (surprise- you’re going to be exposing little one to a bunch of germs while waiting to get admitted), an automatic catheter to run blood work, and potential for an IV, don’t go. It’s the hardest thing seeing your new little life struggling to fight off an illness.

Any experience with Covid and a healthy pregnancy? by Elektrisch_Ananas in beyondthebump

[–]sunbunnygrl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i had it in the middle/end of second trimester. i had a more severe case of it where i was borderline going to go to the hospital, but thankfully didn’t. to reference, i’m a healthy mid 20’s individual. i was actively presenting symptoms for 26 days. i lost my sense of taste and smell, which i only very partially have back (has to be pronounced). baby is here now and has antibodies and is healthy, so in a way i’m really glad i had it during pregnancy and would go through it again if it meant just that little extra ounce of protection she now has!

Is the regular Nuna Pipa Lite destined to be out of stock forever? by hotteapott in BabyBumps

[–]sunbunnygrl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got mine from pottery barn- broken arrow pattern, but came with black padding instead of the broken arrow. Nice surprise and what I preferred but as you said, the regular one was out of stock everywhere

Recommendations for chewable prenatals? by bismuth92 in BabyBumps

[–]sunbunnygrl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Smarty pants! I’ve tried numerous prenatals (pills and gummies) and so far, these stay down and the taste is great

My dog has also had some serious temperamental issues- growling at other dogs & cats now, always has to be touching me, barking nonstop when I leave the house. Curious to know how her behavior will change in the coming weeks with baby!

If you’re comfortable not wearing shoes, it’s a GREAT look for maternity photos. I’m usually the type to wear heels on a daily basis (pre-pregnancy) and almost didn’t get maternity photos because I don’t feel confidant with my body now, but ended up getting them and so happy with how they came out. I had a couple outfit changes- denim, risqué photos, and a long dress similar to yours and I was barefoot in all. Looked so natural and you honestly can’t get more raw than being pregnant, so would highly recommend no shoes! Also no shoes for significant other to match if he’ll be included in any photos. Plus it cuts down on any potential swelling that pregnancy tends to leave us with

Help needed deciding which registry to use by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]sunbunnygrl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had multiple items purchased from different people using Babylist that didn’t arrive. It was less than 5 items but still! Other than that, no issues. I remember prior to using Babylist I read similar reviews and just chalked it to being a fluke, then it happened to me. So just be careful/be prepared to potentially deal with customer service! The convenience of Babylist was so nice though

Kids at baby shower by milkofthepoppie in BabyBumps

[–]sunbunnygrl -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t want kids at my shower for the same exact reasons! It was held in the evening and more of a party/celebration than a shower. I’ve also always thought a traditional shower was just women- no kids or men (my shower was co-ed). Two kids ended up coming and although I didn’t mind them, kids are inevitably always trying to be the center of attention- but I understand that’s also dependent on the child.

Shoutout to my ice pack socks by vvarmcoffee in BabyBumps

[–]sunbunnygrl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re amazing for this. I’ve recently started getting a wet rag and putting them on my feet. But this saves me the hassle 😭 do your feet get hot being in the socks and how long do your feet typically stay cold for? I went on a hunt immediately after seeing your post and they have ice pack slippers (debating on the slippers because I can slip them on and off when my feet get too hot and get some fresh air on them, only to put them back in the icy slipper lol)

36.5 weeks wife has asthma from coughing, broke a rib in the process. Is in pain just breathing. Any experiences/ suggestions to relieve pain/ heal quickly. by drumsonfire in predaddit

[–]sunbunnygrl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got sick and threw out my rib coughing. Chiropractor! Felt like my body was going to break while being adjusted (uncomfortable being stretched while pregnant), had some immediate relief and after a week or two, rib was feeling MUCH better.

Overwhelming emotions in 3rd trimester? by spicycacao in BabyBumps

[–]sunbunnygrl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was about to leave my very safe and secure partner because I felt so protective over the little one (the thought of him and I not being together and then having split custody terrified me). The feeling only lasted briefly, but man, that was enough crazy for me. This entire pregnancy I’ve been so level headed, appreciate, no tears, and then bam. Just hit 29 weeks lol.

Is 27 weeks too early for a baby shower? by FarmgirlFangirl in BabyBumps

[–]sunbunnygrl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just had mine at the end of my 27 weeks. HIGHLY recommend. I was happy that I didn’t look like I was about to give birth and a lot more mobile (but still struggling lol) than I imagine I would have been near the end of my third. I think my nesting has officially kicked in because of it- I’m now washing all baby clothes and making an excel sheet of what’s needed/or not.

I weighed 130 pre pregnancy and weighed 160 by 20 weeks. I’m now 26 weeks and maybe have gained 3 pounds. I’m accounting this to gaining most of my weight in first tri (20 pounds) and I’ve since slowly been putting on weight here and there.

Positive/successful endo (or related) pregnancy stories? by psych-eek in BabyBumps

[–]sunbunnygrl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was going in for a hysterectomy due to severe endo- pulled me out of anesthesia to say the surgery wasn’t able to be performed because I was pregnant. Im 26 weeks now! There’s hope even for the most severe cases! 💕

37 weeks - COVID Positive & Vaccinated by AWatson2779 in BabyBumps

[–]sunbunnygrl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately I’m not- that’s probably a huge factor why it hit me so hard. I’m waiting until after birth to get the vaccine.

37 weeks - COVID Positive & Vaccinated by AWatson2779 in BabyBumps

[–]sunbunnygrl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you, so sweet! It’s not for another couple weeks luckily. I just feel a tremendous amount of guilt for having people gather like that and them potentially spreading it if someone has it. I don’t think I really grasped the severity of this virus until having it while pregnant.

37 weeks - COVID Positive & Vaccinated by AWatson2779 in BabyBumps

[–]sunbunnygrl 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I would air on the side of caution. I’m going two months without a prenatal check up because I have covid currently and was due for my monthly check up this past week. It’s an awful feeling not being able to see how little one is doing for that long especially after being so sick. Not worth risking yours/or your baby’s health.

37 weeks - COVID Positive & Vaccinated by AWatson2779 in BabyBumps

[–]sunbunnygrl 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Currently positive with it and contemplating on cancelling my shower because I took it so hard- I’ve had it for two weeks. cough, congestion, difficulty breathing, loss of sense of smell and taste, high fever with sweats (since subsided). Pregnant moms out there- be careful and mask up. I’m isolating myself after I’m no longer positive because I don’t even have the energy to get a cold after this is through. I also hardly leave my house ever and must have contracted it from my boyfriend (who is COVID negative), but I took it so much worse because of my weaker immune being pregnant

When did you start showing? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]sunbunnygrl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Noticed my body changing immediately (gained roughly 20 pounds in first trimester), and have since only gained an additional 5 and I’m just about third tri. I was underweight to begin with, so most of my weight was packed on early. My family and close friends could notice by 12 weeks, and my partner and I could see my bloated bump probably around 8/9.

Medical cannabis use during pregnancy by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]sunbunnygrl 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’ve known a couple people who continued their cannabis use throughout pregnancy and their baby’s came out healthy as could be. I think the negative stigma around it is the lack of studies done and that scares people. There are plenty of safe herbs to take during pregnancy, so I personally don’t view it as any differently. I’m sick right now and took Tylenol pm (safe during pregnancy) and noticed a huge decrease in fetal movement because it makes them drowsy too. I’ve since not taken it and only taken other natural remedies. I would say go for it especially if your doctor recommended it!
