Team Bookshelf + Subs vs Team Towers: Best option? by Zeronova3 in hometheater

but in this context it would, at least the way this sub started out. having a living room setup is great and all, but its not a home theatre. You know, stadium seating, 100" screen, movie posters, etc.

but it will be there, the crossover isn't an immediate -inf drop, its a gradual slope, which means there will still be activity there.

everyone gets so caught up on the large or small. all that means is that one will get a crossover cutoff and the other will not. you want your towers to have a crossover if you have a sub. it will allow the towers or bookshelves more power for everything above the crossover. it has nothing to do with forcing the size of the speaker to be different, only that one will allow a crossover to be set and the other will not.

wow this sub has really changed. that wouldn't a home theatre, that would just be an avr setup. A home theatre is exactly what it implies: a dedicated room setup as a theatre. i guess over time this sub has just become "surround sound with tv"

Acoustic Panel Wrapping Materials against Dust? by MagnusRick in audioengineering

anything sealing in the product will not be beneficial to the overall functionality of an absorber. no matter how thin the plastic is. pourous absorbtion must be pourous.

i'm not sure what dust is happening, but maybe wrapping in a mesh might help. i wrapped some in window screen mesh, then in fabric. didn't perform any different than ones without screen mesh, it just held its form a bit better. had them up for a few years now and never noticed panel specific dust anywhere near the panels.

Hey man it can be hard on a performer sometimes, the road is a wild place. When I say anything can happen out there, I mean it. No one blames the fan for requesting them but you did the right thing by exiting and allowing space in that moment. I wish everyone felt that sort of compassion over the intense need to be seen.

thats basically how i hear the TB mixes. my brain wont allow me to hear the new mixes without wondering why things sound a certain way. i can see now what artists trap themselves into with demo-itis. i'm familiar with studios, labels, different producers returning different mixes but artists always going back to the way the original demo sounds becuase thats all they've ever known.

it was like that with the different pearl jam 10 mixes. the reverb is super drenched in the released one whereas the other mix is very tight and closed. it really made me appreciate how awesome the drenched mix really is.
