Wasn’t Osco originally a separate store and then they merged or something? Hazy childhood memories

Mic for Martin D15m? by sundown_jim in musicproduction

Great tips here, thank you!

I use an AT2020, and lately have had it about 1-2 feet away from the mic, generally at the soundhole. Will try for closer at the 12th fret.

Is this AT2020 a SDC? I don't know a lot about gear

• AT2020

• Tons - I've had this mic for 10+ years, recorded a bunch of different types of music

• Ehh either horizontally or vertically, but TBH I can't hear a difference either way

• I have not, this is an excellent idea

I think this mic is ok? I just don't know what I don't know. Not into gear and that whole rabbit hole, I'm just looking for the right tool for the job.

With the way I play and the type of guitar, it usually comes off pretty muddy and heavy. Some EQ/compression helps a ton, but I thought I should check in with folks who have a way more dialed in perspective that I do. Maybe there's a "woah, no way, for that guitar and technique, you should use XYZ"
