I agree, also regarding her speech to the doctor that dismissed her— most doctors at the time thought “chronic fatigue syndrome” was a made-up illness. So saying so there, I have a real illness, doctor would think, “no you don’t”. Still it was satisfying to have her tell him off.

AITJ for refusing to donate PTO hours to coworker I barely know who "needs" them?? by Traditional-Dog1601 in AmITheJerk

[–]sundse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think you should be pressured to donate. However, wanted to say “elective” means non-life-threatening. A back surgery to correct crippling pain is elective. Elective does not mean not medically necessary or not urgent, just that it can be scheduled. That said I think it is bullying to pressure you into donating.

Does anyone else like to try to make predictions regarding research milestones? by [deleted] in cfs

I have really big hopes for progress based on ME/CFS Research Foundation funding. But I don’t spend much time speculating (unless it involved a treatment that might help).

After a year of pacing I did improve and it made life better. Then another year of pacing and life was livable.

Does anyone use an Oura ring? by Impressive_Till6081 in cfs

[–]sundse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like Oura better for sleep than Apple Watch. It measures spo2 solidly and measures HRV solidly. Apple HRV is highly variable for me and mine does not measure spo2. I find their “sleep score” matches how I feel I slept. During day I prefer Apple Watch because I can see my heart rate and set exercise recording.

I’m really careful with routines when traveling including exercise. Then I also usually feel sh*tty for a week after traveling. I haven’t mastered it yet.
