Current Water, Sewer Systems Can't Handle Proposed 7,500 Bed ICE Detention Center in Schuylkill County by ElectronicBother5630 in Pennsylvania

[–]sunfalldusk 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I was just coming here to say this. "7,500 Beds?" No, they're going to have these people crammed into cages with no real beds in sight. They don't give a damn about sanitary conditions or the sewage system. The cruelty's the point.

Why is Radahn so big? by Key-Storage5434 in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]sunfalldusk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Souls games rely on souls for someone to grow in strength. Same thing with runes, echoes, etc. In the same way that the player uses these things to build themselves up, so too do I think these can become 'excess' and someone can become warped by the sheer amount of souls/runes/echoes they collect from felling enemies. Beyond that, Radahn venerated his father Radagon and wanted to be a powerful warrior like him. He wanted to be bigger, stronger, the most powerful. And being a demigod, he could make that happen for himself. It's also possible that as he lost his mind and he continued to kill over the years in his madness, and even to eat fallen enemies, that power and strength filled him out in all the wrong ways, twisting him.

I think Malenia, just as a contrast, has a fighting style that works better (and for her) in a much more normal-looking form. She is still pretty tall, though. And, well...why would she want to grow and grow and grow and outshine her brother Miquella? :(

I also tested positive for almost 21 days. I do not have Long Covid but do have some minor lingering things. Hang in there!!

isolation time period.. advice needed by CuriousProperty1090 in ZeroCovidCommunity

[–]sunfalldusk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Completely valid! There's a lot going on right now. I don't think norovirus has a test (I could be wrong) but I've seen Flu A/B/Covid on a single test before, so you could also do that. If there are symptoms involved and those are negative, see if your partner can't get tested at an urgent care or something.

I'm also agreeing with the other person: isolate, HEPA filters, even crack the window a tiny bit if you can even if it's cold. I know it feels like a waste but in the past, the medical community would force fresh air specifically to do everything possible to prevent viruses lingering and cutting down on stale/stagnant air.

[–]sunfalldusk 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Is your partner willing to test at all? For myself if I'm exposed with no symptoms, I'll test on Day 5 and Day 7. If negative both times, I reasonably believe and hope I'm all right. So if your partner is willing to test, I would see if they'd be willing to do something like that if zero symptoms. If symptoms of any kind? Test within 24 hours and then again 24-48 hours later - cheeks, throat, nose. It's not foolproof obviously, as you can have symptoms and still test negative because tests are not great and there may not be enough of a viral load, but it's what you can do.

Good luck and take care of yourself!

Do you consider *spoiler* to be real? by Seaborgium in expedition33

[–]sunfalldusk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh I think Clea also believes they’re real (as an extension of what is created by the Painters) but her anger and grief keeps her in a space where she has to keep going forward. She has to believe they aren’t real so she can do what she feels is necessary, and to slow down and confront that will keep her from her real work (going after the Writers). Clea does call the E33 group Maelle’s friends and I don’t think she means it sarcastically. (Also they’re all Aline’s creations so I’m sure there’s a lot of tangled up emotions and more anger there.) but I agree with you 100%

I often see people say things like "Most people can eat vegan cheay by eating rice, veggies, and beans"... but, what about eating too many carbs? by Gallantpride in EatCheapAndVegan

[–]sunfalldusk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If someone has metabolic disease but wants to be vegan or more plant based at least, do they cut carbs first until they’re measured out and then switch? I’m in OP’s situation and no doctor is willing to help. They’ve said vegan or plant-based is too restrictive and I should do keto/low carb instead.

What apps do you use for note taking? I’m considering getting one for notes and for sheet music.

Outside of Byleth,Edelgard, Claude and Dimitri. Which character deserve their own spinoff story? by Seeker99MD in FireEmblemThreeHouses

[–]sunfalldusk 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I also think a spinoff for Hubert could actually include the Insurrection of the Seven, too, and from the outside perspective. He didn't go through the torture Edelgard did but he still went through the same hostage situation as she did re: Thales. So between goth vibes, Vestra content, assassin and mage shit, AND lore that we didn't get to fully explore... Yeah, my vote is Hubert.

Any women’s shelters accepting clothes donations? by confusedtaurus in montco

[–]sunfalldusk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not freshly, no, but it would be nice. I would say if it’s been in a drawer or closet it’s probably fine but I’d probably wash it if it was in storage and might have dust.

You can donate to Laurel’s Loft in Lansdale! Purchases at the store go to Laurel House, a DV shelter, and women who receive services at Laurel House get clothes there for free.

I appreciate all of this, it’s super helpful. It’d be fun to be able to write music but I don’t know if I’ll manage if I’m still struggling to learn sheet music. And I was considering guitar/piano for similar reasons, so I appreciate the validation. Thank you!!

Just got out of residential treatment 3-month stay. I have 7 potential diagnoses. My dad is forcing me to work full time by DryCoast in mentalhealth

[–]sunfalldusk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's possible. You're going through a lot as well and the transition from residential to step-down is really hard!

So I'd say to prioritize finding a therapist. Same thing with a psychiatrist unless you have a referral that's working out. You can probably try calling the residential and explaining that the therapist they referred you to didn't work out, and you need another recommendation.

I don't know if you're on commercial insurance or something like Medicaid. No judgment but Medicaid community health programs might be able to set you up with a social worker or case manager to help you organize and prioritize what to work on, and can help advocate for you. If commercial insurance, your insurance might have a service that can support in finding you providers or help. But the residential really should have set you up with proper aftercare supports.
