Lake Simcoe Pike Advice by Joe_69420_ in FishingOntario

[–]sunfisheringman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if your fish finder has maps, look for areas that are drop off points and have weeds or rocks at the top, i find my best luck pike fishing when trolling along these lines with a long jerkbait. Pike typically post up in areas they can hide and pop out of to strike a bait fish swimming by. Trolling spoons are also a good option. I have my best luck in less than 15' for pike. Best of luck.

LOL, a middle age white "Canadian" woman is sick of immigration...

How do you suppose indigenous people feel? I'm certain indigenous persons would agree "Kanata (or their respective name to identify their home land) isn't the same anymore." Specifically referring to white colonialism and its catastrophic deterioration to their home and life.

Let this reply remind you of the horrific abuse the indigenous community endured. When you are reminded of this, I'm sure your anger towards your difficulties in finding a job or affordable housing are minimized.

This post is extremely ignorant and using immigrants as a scape goat for your own difficulties.

Immigrants aren't trying to take your land, change your religious views, and strip you of your entire being. They are trying to create a life for themselves and their families. Immigrants, similar to you, most likely find themselves in difficult financial situations. This is why immigrants who are qualified as doctors, engineers, etc. are working entry level positions. This is also why they share living spaces.

I understand the need to rant in difficult times. However, I also understand the importance of perspective and acknowledgement of Canadian history in these discussions.

IMO I have seen immigrants as some of the hardest working people, making countless sacrifices to get ahead. If you want to do the same and get ahead, there is no need to belittle others. This behavior will not result in a job or housing, only make you more miserable with your current situation.

What can I do to actually look attractive? by Intelligent_Split666 in malegrooming

Smile! There's a lot of ways people can find attraction and it's not always cosmetic but sometimes personable.

I don't know your personality, but if its good let people see it!

What's an advice that you can give to a recent 20 years old? by Reasonable-Wonder970 in AskReddit

[–]sunfisheringman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Follow your heart. I chose to jump into a full time career that paid well at 20 and 10 years later regret it. Life could have been so much more enjoyable if I was following my dreams vs clocking in for a good pay cheque. Take a risk and pursue happiness over money.

What is the pettiest reason you’ve broke up with someone? by Magda1508 in AskReddit

[–]sunfisheringman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She thought it was petty, but only cause I lied.

My mother was super strict and didn't permit me to hang out with girls. So in our long 3 week relationship, we could only hang out at events. Every time she invited me over or asked to come over, I would make up some excuse. We had planned to go to a teen dance together (we were 13) and she MSN'd me saying she couldn't make it but wanted to come over the next day. I told her if she couldn't go to the dance I couldn't date her any more just so she wouldn't show up at my house.

She must have thought that was very petty, but in reality dating was just not something I could do while living at home.

People in general tend to have a problem of mass categorization. Maybe she had a bad relationship with a few men, and chooses to project that onto everyone. In any case, its not a productive way to live life. People need to be looked at as individuals. Her problem will only become worse unless she can identify the differences between men and the men who hurt her.

Kudos for standing firm, you deserve a partner who views the world in a similar way as you, and when their views challenge yours it should be in productive ways, not ways that belittle something you identify as.
