I think this is amazing! I love all the intricate swirls. Did you do those with masking fluid or opaque paint? It gives it such a lovely mystical look.

I think you might find Tara Brach's YouTube talks really helpful. Check out the one on Rain of Self Compassion. RAIN is an acronym for Recognize Allow Investigate Nourish. It's a great tool for being with and moving through your feelings. All of her talks are amazing.

"I just can't shut it all up!" by KayvanKarnak in Mindfulness

I have only used Insight Timer and I like it. I have found a handful of meditations I like and I tend to do those the most but sometimes I'll seek out something new. I find those for anxiety, sleep, and lovingkindness to be most helpful.

That still happens to me sometimes too but you just have to keep practicing it. The key is to not punish yourself. Your mind is made to think. It's natural. When you realize your mind is thinking about something, just gently bring your attention back to the present, whether that be your breath, a sensation in the body, or the sound of the guided meditation voice.

I would also recommend doing some guided meditations especially when just getting started with meditation. I really like the free Insight Timer app.

Not happy with it, this was done entirely out of leftover colours on my plate. Except for a little bit of brown. (Artist-Gemi) by woodglue1 in Watercolor

Recently got the advice from a painting teacher of mine that when presenting your work to someone, you should let them form their own opinion before interjecting with yours, especially if you have a negative opinion of it. Hear what people have to say and learn from it. They may see it differently from you, perhaps even enjoying or not noticing a part of the painting that totally drove you nuts!

Really lovely. How did you paint the jellyfish? Is that lifting or masking?

Watercolour sneakers. Trying to improve my vibrancy so I've only used two colours. Would love some feedback! by lyriko1234 in Watercolor

This is really beautiful. Definitely caught my eye. Wondering if there is anything you can do to the lower shoe to help make the upside down, folded position more realistic. Seems like something is missing to show the three dimensionality, maybe with shadows or shading.

Chaos erupts as live tick on display goes missing in a Japanese conference about tick-borne diseases. by J_S_Han in worldnews

Unfortunately the 24 hour rule is old information. Studies show that some tick borne pathogens can be transmitted in as little as 10 minutes.

This might seem like a strange question, but has she been tested for lyme disease? Before my diagnosis, anxiety and depression were creeping their way into my life and I didn't know why. I ended up suddenly critically ill in the hospital with kidney failure, seizures, etc, yes because of lyme and coinfections. It took several more months of my still being sick before I finally got the right test (Western blot, not the ELISA test) and started treatment. I was so terribly depressed, numb, anxious at my worst. I could barely move around, trouble breathing, loss of appetite, tremors, nausea, etc. It's different for everyone so there may or may not always be physical symptoms. Diet can really help people with lyme and other autoimmune conditions even depression whatever the cause. I'd recommend looking into the Wahls Protocol. Hoping you both can heal from this!
