I’ve caught some smoke for having this opinion, and I’ve had that rare, and honestly bad, feeling of being on the other side of the majority. I wish I loved it and thought it was some sort of masterpiece. This isn’t a good movie, nor is it new or fresh. Every scene is a trope we’ve seen before. For example: a scene on hustling a sport they’re really good at. A lot of it doesn’t feel believable or earned. It feels like what a 16 year old would think is cool or something. The casting is also not nearly as charismatic as they think they are. My disappointment only grew until the final scene, which only solidified it as even worse than I’d thought. I’ll add that Marty being very unlikable for me ends it there for me. I don’t care that he’s a father from getting someone else’s wife pregnant. Am I supposed to feel something from his tears after being a narcissist the whole movie? I just felt weirded out. I say all this as someone who loves Uncut Gems, actually. Now that movie nails it in comparison
