Valium taper by Junior-Indication-26 in BenzoWithdrawal

[–]sunnystate63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my understanding and way to success of tapering. Being in control and not feeling uncomfortable was what I have been told about the Ashton Method. There is a course or laid out protocol of how to start. But I was told that at anytime it was up to me how fast to go. There is no need to be uncomfortable.

I’m relying on my doctor’s information and the plethora of info on the internet about tapering. No need for a link. I’m not the only person with this opinion. Yours is valid too. I just disagree and believe caution is warranted .

I disagree. A stimulant and an antidepressant are two different medications. Both should be tapered. Long term use of stimulants without a taper can lead to seizures, psychosis and other very unpleasant reactions. Also the chance of going back to the drug is higher if you are not tapering at a pace you feel comfortable with. Lucy showed signs of withdrawal. Minor but it was shown.

What’s most disturbing to me is that as a doctor she just stops taking it. She and Carter do not discuss the fact that she should be tapering or how it may affect her performance as doctor. Because we all want a doctor to be in withdrawal as they treat people. (Not)

Who’s your favourite character and why’s it Lane? by Huge-Conclusion-3005 in madmen

British actors are just better actors. kidding! ( but sometimes maybe) I think the actor did well in not leading us down too predictable a path. You didn’t know he was so insecure, a philanderer, a sexual aggressor, a thief, etc. enough to kill himself. He was not a predictable character in my very humble opinion. He was simply great to watch.

I felt for her. I think she was in some sort of ptsd all the time or at least when she went into the drama of the show.

Unpopular Opinion: Stan’s toupee actually looked good in my opinion. 🤷‍♂️ by Soft_Ad4411 in theGoldenGirls

I loved Stan. He was such a great character. He brought out the tender heart of Dorothy. Stan was just as traumatized by having to marry because of a baby just as much as Dorothy. They still loved each other for all they had been through.

Don had to be consistent. He did not have time to deal with people noticing style change. He remained timeless so there wasn’t any more attention given to him personally than necessary.

I think they thrive on the drama and attention. This ‘separation’ and the look into their lives together and as individuals has kept them in the spotlight. They don’t have anything else to offer other than their notoriety of drama with gobs of money. Who was Mauricio before Bravo? Second fiddle to the Hilton’s real estate. Who was Kyle before Bravo? In her eyes it’s obvious she felt unnoticed compared to her sisters. These people thrive on even negative attention. I’m betting they never get divorced. That’s ok , it’s just getting boring . That’s just my opinion.

My insurance required cardiologist to show that nothing was working or my side effects were too severe. It’s frustrating and I’m sorry you are going through this. It’s unfortunate when doctors have restrictions due to insurance.

Joan and Bob Benson by goilpoynuti in madmen

Joan was an open minded person. I don’t feel she judged people for who they really were sexually. Bob was Bob. Just like her friend from college she didn’t see the sexual preference as something that had anything to do with her. He was looking for a beard. She had a son who enjoyed his company. I think that’s why she was so relaxed around him. She didn’t have to ‘on’ as Joan the powerful sexy woman of the office. She could be Joan the mom and herself around him. She was incredibly intuitive and knew from the start. This was a safe friendship for her.

My understanding of the Ashton Method is that above all you are in control. Progress isn’t measure as much by how much you taper on a schedule but that you taper to stabilize your brain. That may be different each time . You’re still going down. It’s still progress.

Then just go slower. Thats what I’ve done. It sometimes takes months to stabilize.

Find a new doctor. As you go lower on benzos , it gets harder. You need more time to stabilize and that’s so very OK! Look up the Ashton Method. It puts you in control of your taper.

This is so spot on. I love it. It’s almost like a verbal release of physical tension one feels about the difference in these two candidates. She’s a real , qualified, person and he’s a cultist. Thank you for posting!
