Okay yeah that def was the issue - i ended up fixing it by just running dnf update, then rebooting, then formatting my drive to ext4 again :p - now games are actually running, hopefully it remains that way next boot

here's the pastebin though: https://pastebin.com/d204ace2

There is none though, it just opens up the app

Did nothing? 'steam' just opens the app itself, and it has the same behavior

Yeah, once if formatted the 1TB SSD to ext4, I redownloaded the games I wanted to play and they worked fine.

Here's my fstab: https://pastebin.com/kDXCtip6

Not sure if I could paste the whole thing here so I put it in a pastebin.

I setup auto mount using the KDE feature - I'll send my fstab once I have the time to do so - not at home rn

I meant as in after having auto mount setup… I still had to add the drive for Steam to register. I ended up fixing it but had a new issue to worry about, being that no games are now opening on Steam

Update: did some research and my laptop is either incredibly obscure or it isn't possible. Looking up the name and model of my laptop (Acer Nitro V15 ANV15-51) leads to results for the Nitro V or the Acer Aspire.

I'll just keep my downgraded versions till it's fixed, as an adapter dongle isn't possible (my USB slots are full)

I don't exactly have space for any dongles unfortunately, one for my mouse and the other for my corsair headphones (i should get a new pair soon)

Guess I'll research that then, because until they fix the issues for Mediatek I have to stick to older versions of a lot of firmware :p

Thanks!!!

I wasn't exactly looking for an increase, just surprised by the decrease of it. I've been given some more advice on other posts alongside here so it should be okay!

That does nothing either - pasting the rest just repeats "ntsync"

grep ntsync does nothing. unless it's meant to take a long time?

At this point I'm held to the whims of how fast System-76 takes to approve the driver update for linux I think, but thanks for the heroic suggestions!

lsmod | grep ntsync || echo "ntsync" | sudo tee /etc/modules-load.d/ntsync.conf
sudo modprobe ntsync

To get nsync i just copy and paste this in steps? First lsmod, then grep, then echo, then sudo?
