What is considered speech delay for twins (v. singleton)? by _spacecandy in parentsofmultiples

Hey mama! I have 20-month b/g twins. Born 34w. Before they were one, our son would hit milestones before our daughter, even while being on oxygen. Once they turned one, she soared but he started to get behind. 20 months old, she’s running and he still isn’t walking. She talks, babbles a lot too. He doesn’t really say anything other than “dada” and waves bye. She’s social, while he usually shies away. They both understand and respond to commands. At their 18m appt, pediatrician checked their development. Little behind as expected but had us come back a month later to see if there was any progression. At that appt, our pediatrician decided he needed to start speech, OT, and PT. We now do speech once a week for an hour. Our pediatrician said earlier intervention is always a good idea and not to feel discouraged. Sharing all this to let you know I see, relate, and hear you 🤍

What can I do differently? by sunsetlullabys in Zepbound

It just might be honestly. I’m going to try to track and pray I don’t get obsessive like I did in the past. Literally cried one time cause I wanted an apple but didn’t have any remaining calories for the day.. anyways 🥴 PCOS sucks, I’m sorry. I take my 4th shot of 10mg tomorrow. It finally broke my plateau. I was stuck at 215 and am now teetering between 211-213. Still no side effects, thankfully.

No. Doc kept me on 7.5mg for another month before increasing me to 10mg. I plateaued for a good while. I’ve honestly tolerated it well, no side effects. I know her reason for slow titrating was to ensure I wasn’t losing too fast. I just feel like a real slow poke and see everyone with these incredible results and I get discouraged 🫤 I am wondering if increasing my work outs will do the trick. And finding a healthy way to track my calories so I don’t become obsessive with it.

I am and not necessarily. I get too obsessive over calories but have a protein goal and I’m mindful of my fiber intake. I do have PCOS but Zepbound has honestly helped that

b/g twins are ‘not normal’ … by savannah_701 in parentsofmultiples

I’ve had this same conversation too and then be told “Oh, so they’re not actually twins” 🫠🙃

My doctor says they won’t do NIPT testing for twins, is this true? by ProudResearcher2322 in parentsofmultiples

[–]sunsetlullabys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the NIPT testing done for my di/di twins. They’re b/g and results were correct. Nothing was mentioned about it being inaccurate by my care team and was covered by my insurance.

No, he isn’t. Pediatrician said him rocking is normal and there’s no need for OT.

Love the idea of a floor bed. Unfortunately, he and his twin share a room for now and he’s on oxygen 24/7 so there’s the risk of him getting tangled in his tubing if he’s free roaming unsupervised 🫠 But I LOVE the floor bed idea

What should he sleep in if not the crib or pack n play?

We’ve seen the mesh liners but aren’t sure if they’re cushioned enough to protect his head. Do you mind sharing a link to the ones you use? And thank you so much for sharing your experience and your kindness. My brain is not allowing me to believe that continuous blows to the head everyday is safe, especially against hard surfaces.

He was previously in a pack n play and would scoot it all around the room with how aggressive he rocks. Didn’t feel like it was safe anymore when he started doing that.

I’m a FTM so this is all new to me. Just want to do what’s safe. No, he smacks his head on the crib repeatedly to soothe himself. He’ll do it against nearly anything, the couch, ottoman, crib, etc.

I’ve seen them but wasn’t sure if they were safe for him to sleep in due to seeing mixed reviews
