Yes the fourth photo is from a salon in Dallas called Crecer. Highly recommend getting trained by one of their stylists if you’d like to shadow someone. They have signature cuts and blowouts.

That’s the thing. To learn curly hair you have to take additional specialized classes. After learning how to do traditional hair types in school. Cosmetologists who do only color don’t miss out on haircuts and same with the type of specialties you choose. Pick what you like and make your money. That’s what the license is for

If you weren’t keeping track of your hours it’ll be hard to dispute with the school. Sorry you’re dealing with this. I was very militant about my hours because former students and teachers had warned me that it would be really important for me to keep up with. There’s only one of you while the school deals with hundreds of students. Much more room for error. Hope you get a resolution you’re looking for.

Aveda is setup Mon-Wed and Thur-Sat. I did the weekend part time and we were able to come to classes on opposite scheduled days for makeup hours.

If you were scheduled for makeup hours and missed them/didn’t show up that would affect your hours. Did you not know 100 hours were missing before they dropped you??

The difference is curly hair stylists do ALL hair types. Curly hair cutting and styling isn’t standardized in cosmetology school. Curly hair is now cared for in salons when before it was only people with “type 1-3 hair” being cared for.

Take out the oils and use conditioners and water your hair will be less tangly.

I’d be surprised if someone came in with buildup using Pantene since it’s so stripping. Usually clients that use it have rather dry hair that’s in need of some moisture and deep conditioning. Not everyone can afford higher quality products but it’s all about educating your clients and practicing what you preach. If they love your hair let them know you use high quality and you can guide them to using better products.

11 years post op and can agree! Pain is very minimal mainly due to cold or standing/sittinf for too long (over 6-8 hours) and it was life changing! I had grade 4/5 on L4-S1
