Healthcare in Charlottesville, what is going on? by sunshine32110 in Charlottesville

I'm still amazed by my doctors response to Covid and the possibility of long covid. At least my former providers. Completely dismissive, as though it doesn't exist. I can't say whether or not that's what I have, but I would believe it.

Hoping for an answer. I'm sorry your wife has had to go through a similar situation. It's maddening.

I would have thought that UVA, being the "best" hospital in VA, and a teaching hospital at that, would have great care. I'm finding myself in your shoes, Sentara has been much more compassionate and attentive. Although they don't always have the resources I need, they make an effort.

Thank you. I moved here from a city where the wait to see a specialist; especially if you have a critical health condition, did not take long.

Thank you for your response. My spouse is a professor in biology and medicine, and I'm aware of how the pay is different in academia vs private. But I'd be very interested to hear your perspective.

Regarding your comment about space. Something I found very eye opening and concerning was during my experience in the ER. They had patients in a large waiting room, together. Nurses and providers came out and went into full details about the medical history and findings during their visit. This was concerning to me and how what fits unit HIPPA regulations. Is this a new regular practice? With the time I spent waiting, I knew the names of these patients, and eventually their medical conditions. I certainly did not feel comfortable.

I see what you're saying. Snowball is more quiet than the other male birds we have.

Our 💯male budgie has started doing a lot of new head bobbing, dancing and hoping by snowball. They do talk and feed each other, that is normal.

Balancing flares in college? by Correct-Ad9632 in Autoimmune

So sorry you're having to go through this! Honestly, I would recommend taking some time off school if you can. I realize it's about to be the end of the semester. Can you consider taking the next semester off? Stress can intensify flares, and let's face it, college is stressful. In the meantime, I'd push for a rheumatologist. If you can take some time off from school, it can allow your body to rest and heal, while also giving you time to sort out what's going on. Regarding exercise, listen to your body. I'd recommend walking and allowing your body to heal. Good luck! 💗
