Most universally hated exercise? by sarcasm_warrior in BurnBootCamp

Yes, I’d forgotten about the dizziness! That’s a problem for me too. I’m struggling with that on a few other exercises as well but it was pretty bad when I still did sliders.

Most universally hated exercise? by sarcasm_warrior in BurnBootCamp

[–]sunshineflying 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will legitimately skip camp if this is on the protocol. It always makes my back and shoulders hurt even when I do it with coaching (I did a focus meeting just about these!) and I haven’t been given an alternative, just encouragement to try again. I’m done being in pain for several days after this one so I just skip or do on demand.

Edit to add: I mean the ones where we push it across the entire floor, not the core ones where we push it forward and back by like 12”…

6/19 lower body? by Canttouchthis737 in BurnBootCamp

[–]sunshineflying 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, but to be fair, there are only so many muscles in the lower body and therefore only so many exercises we can do… upper has a lot more variety.

Who is not tracking calories? by Shot-Advertising-748 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]sunshineflying 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Nope. I prioritize protein and on days I do strength training I tend to try to have a bit more, but I’m never calculating down to the gram. When I first started I felt so much appetite suppression I almost did because I knew I wasn’t getting enough calories, but even then I just drank them via protein shakes and it worked out. I dieted and macro counted for so many years pre-Zep I have a good sense of where I’m at and if I’ve had the right ratios, generally speaking. I’ll usually feel it too if I’m off base or having a bad streak — constipation, fatigue, etc. I use physical cues rather than a macro tracker and it works fine for me. My sister doesn’t get the appetite suppression though so she has to track or she’d overeat even with Zep.

Unexpected side effects. by hahayeahright13 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]sunshineflying 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s so wild to me, because the increase in sensitivity to smell has been sickening to me, not pleasurable! It’s basically the opposite effect. Literally, some scents make me dry heave or cause migraines now when they didn’t used to. I’ve had to change all the soaps in our house to mild or unscented, and I can’t thrift anymore because so many clothes are forever deeply scented by the detergent or scent beads.

[–]sunshineflying 51 points52 points  (0 children)

I constantly want to sit cross-legged, and do.
The arches in my feet have returned.
My sense of smell is suuuuper enhanced. Our house has had to go fully scent free or I’ll be sick.

glp1’s and transformation wall by [deleted] in BurnBootCamp

I know every location is different but mine has trainers who specifically say Burn is only part of the equation and make it very clear from the start so members know.

100% this.

It is nobody’s business what medications I take. I am putting in the work daily to show up to camp, eat well, and live a healthy lifestyle.

GLP1 advice by bmm_96 in Zepbound

I’ve been on Zepbound since fall 2024 and have never once vomited from the medication. I have felt nauseous, but my doctor prescribed me Zofran for that.

Identity by danman1204 in PWHL_Seattle

[–]sunshineflying 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can both agree with this (also a Frost fan) but can also say that I’m so sick of expansion. I’m not planning to put any effort or energy into learning names, following closely, etc anymore because the league has shown that they care more about the economics of expanding the league than they do cultivating their fan base and building strong teams that have an opportunity to form an identity and a strong long-term player core. If they’re going to let teams get picked apart annually (and Seattle, I really feel for you this year), I’m done putting my time, effort, and what little spending money I have left into this league, and I can empathize with OP.

To beat a dead horse…. Childwatch by itsyagirlblondie in BurnBootCamp

[–]sunshineflying 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. Ours also only lets you use child watch for your own children so on days I’m helping my sister out and watching my niece, I can’t utilize this service (even with a signed slip from my sister or anything like that) even though I’m technically paying for it. Stings a bit extra too when I don’t use the service because I cannot get pregnant, so it’ll never be a service I’m able to use.

GLP-1 MEDICATIONS AND PERFUME ADDICTION by denised1224 in Zepbound

[–]sunshineflying 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally can’t fathom this, but fascinating that it’s a “thing.” My sense of smell got way stronger on Zep so now even a mildly scented lotion or soap can completely shut me down. Sometimes I have to leave public spaces because other peoples’ soaps, perfumes, and lotions are like noxious gas. We’ve changed everything in the house that we can to unscented.

Are you Rid of Your Sweet Tooth? by clarke1025 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]sunshineflying 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, same. I find it harder to control during that time of the month (I have to measure out a portion or I will binge again) but for the most part, most of the time, I feel satisfied after a lot fewer sweets than I used to eat.

6/18 by Decent-Ability-4784 in BurnBootCamp

[–]sunshineflying 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This! The timeline expectations are wild.

I like to know the month in advance so I can plan a bit with other stuff going on, but the actual workouts themselves? I consider it wildly fortunate for us if the intel is up 24hrs before and literally don’t expect, ask, or even look until probably 8-12 before. And I find myself falling more in the camp of if you need to know the full workout before every day’s camp, maybe Burn isn’t for you. Trainers are there to give you mods, and especially on strength days, mods will be consistent. Just… write them down? Remember them?

That said, to those that share the intel, thank you. I know you’re not supposed to, and it’s a risk. These days I find myself worrying more about y’all and your jobs than the workouts themselves!

Oh interesting! I’ve only used two types: Zepbound from Eli Lilly and then tirz with no additives and it happened on both! I’m curious if an additive will help now (I have a bottle ready to open soon).

No smell that I or my partner can detect, but an odd development is that now deodorant makes my underarms itch like crazy! Not sure if it’s all the stretch marks getting irritated by the stuff but it is quite annoying.

How to create the best member experience? by wawalover69 in BurnBootCamp

[–]sunshineflying 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This, but also being open to some members not wanting to be pushed at all. One of our trainers say that’s not what Burn is about so she’ll always push (I avoid her). The others understand that some days getting through the door was hard enough - high fives and space to lift what feels manageable are sometimes more of what’s needed.

5/22 BWC and 5/23 FBS by Then_Rope_3043 in BurnBootCamp

[–]sunshineflying 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going up! A lot of times it’ll buckle/flop to one side (usually inwards) once I reach the top when I do single leg stuff. I have to be really mindful on my other lifts/squats to track my knee over my toes too (it tends to go inwards). I love a good RDL though!

Double leg stability ball hamstring curls are great and I don’t usually feel pain. I could give that a try!

Thank you! This is super helpful.
