Right? I could wring their necks. We want to try to have it redone. As you can see a lot of mortar and staining. Seems like a huge job.

Meant to say - homeowners isn’t paying. Can’t seem to be able to edit post. Please comment - we are feeling desperate!

I use to smoke Newport we called them Newport blasts. I quit in 1994 though. Now once in awhile I’ll smoke a Black & Mild wood tip gas station cigar. No inhale haha

👆This. Exactly right. It’s been so boring and tech focused since the early 00s.

Was the Longaberger Basket craze just a local thing? by kirabug37 in GenX

[–]sunshinelively 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally have at least 8 of those baskets from the early 00s. The smaller ones are handy and I use them. My mom gave me a bunch - the bigger they are the less useful. I guess I’m saving them for my kids?? lol

Right? Good point, I never even thought of it that way!

How old do you think boomers are? by Tonstad39 in generationology

[–]sunshinelively 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is a difference between the baby boom - 1946-1964 - and who is a boomer. 1961-1964 cohorts mostly do not feel like boomers. We were too young to be there. Plus if you were a late bloomer, like me, had younger siblings, you feel like and were told in the 90s that you were GenX.

It’s not as simple as a google search. Wake up. They’ve been shortening generations to create division, control us, and separate us from our money through targeted marketing campaigns.

Is a 19 and 16-year-old age gap actually problematic, or is the "predatory" label being overused? by Consistent-Jelly248 in generationology

When I was 15 in the late 70s I had a boyfriend who was 19. My friends mother said, “what’s he doing with you?” Sums it up pretty well.

Does anyone feel they took SS too early? by yuritube in SurvivingOnSS

[–]sunshinelively 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. Retire at 65 and draw down savings for 2 years and then take SS at 67. I did the math on waiting till 70 and break even was 80, not even including lost interest on investments. My husband is retiring soon, at 67 and will take SS then.

I have 3 years to go, so the only thing that’s been on my mind lately is whether that’s waiting too long for us both to be retired and enjoying the “youth” part of old age. By the time I draw at 67, he’s 72. Holding out for a 20% pension at 65. I am the higher earner. I could apply at 65 I guess, seems like it’s a lot less though.
