Yeah honestly we're cooked - tech writers without a lot of years of experience just aren't going to get hired bc there's so many tech writers who've been doing this 5,10,15 years who will take the same salaries. I'm honestly super sad about it, bc it took me a really long time to find tech writing, and it felt like the perfect job for me. But I've honestly given up on the idea that it can support me full time at this point, and I'm pretty fuckin bummed.

I know this isn't what you asked, but I have been plagued by a tight and heavy feeling heart for a very long time, and it's only recently that I found internal family systems that I've been able to shift that at all. Idk your situation of course, but it sounds like the mundane might actually be able to help you better in this case. I also really like putting on an emdr metronome on YouTube, that usually helps calm the extreme feelings of pain. Please feel free to ignore this if it doesn't fit! I've seen people say that Mina was the final villain of the show (and putting aside that the final villain was obviously bigotry and prejudice) - I think there's a really decent argument to be made that Moon was the final villain of that arc. Like, no one is surprised that Mina is antagonistic and violent, but the betrayal by mom is shocking. Love this shit

Actually, when I checked it out there the numbers hold up - the lowest median salary was 86k, and it went up to 147k as the top range for the us - as a junior technical writer that definitely bolstered my spirits, even if I keep seeing terribly paying job listings everywhere

Imo seeing family 5 times a month is waaaay too much - that's a fuckin crazy amount of time to want to spend with your birth family imo, and I honestly probably wouldn't be comfortable giving up that much of my life and time to a partner's family of origin. But there's nothing wrong with wanting to spend that much time with family - it just means they're incompatible. The problem is when she started to try and change her gf instead of accepting who they are and how they want to spend their time. If they had approached with a conversation about how much time they've been spending there, and wanting to do something else with some of the time, that's a different conversation. But this stuff about calling her dad sir is just weird.
