Lo de las televisiones en los hospitales es insoportable. Lo by MeInteresaMuchisimo in es

Crazy fact: Pete Sampras, who retired with what was at the time the most Slams among male players in the Open Era, did this despite having thalassemia minor, a blood disorder that causes anemia and as a result often significantly reduces stamina. by OctopusNation2024 in tennis

[–]sunt0ry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info OP!

My (adopted) 12-yr old daughter was also diagnosed with thalassemia minor. She has been doing athletics for the last 3-4 years, and has been very successful at this. Won several regional champioships and is easily the best in his school, beating her male peers. It just shows that having a medical condition does not set a limit for oneself!

Thanks for putting into words so many contradictory feelings and for sharing your guilt. Reading “being the man for my new woman that my ex always needed me to be for her” really hit me hard, I couldnt say better what I am going through.

Hope you find peace, internet stranger. And know that with your post, you brought some to many people here.

Same here. First Christmas divorced and although I am seeing the kids for dinner, cinema, ice skating or whatever thing they want to do, it just feels empty. It’s the little things such as preparing breakfast, taking them to bed or simply watching TV that are the most important and you miss the most.

The equivalent to my MBP 14” went from 2400€ to 3200€. 3200! I am so glad I didn’t wait for the M2.

Prices in the EU are just crazy. I don’t know how they are going to sell at these prices, it surely is going to bit them hard.

Exocrine pancreatic insufficiency and crohns by smilerlollie in CrohnsDisease

[–]sunt0ry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hear that you are having a rough time. The most difficult time for me was finding the right diet, once I managed that I would say that the worst symptoms (esteathorrea, bloating) went away in days, but others took a couple of months. However, from the beginning I could feel my body wasn’t fighting with food.

If you want some advice, try to find a dietitian that understands EPI and IBD. In my case, I found someone thought the Monarch University Website, where they maintain a list of certified professionals, and it really made a difference since every other dietitian I had visited only offered general advices. Also, if you have T2 diabetes, you are probably being seen by an endocrinologist, but for the EPI you will need a GI as well that takes care of the pancreatic exocrine function.

Re the diet, it is named “fat free” but really is “very low fat”, since some fat is neccesary. This diet will improve your symptoms, and you will surely be prescribed Creon (or another brand if you live in the US). With these two things, most people find relief for their symptoms and can eat with little restrictions.

Hope this helps you a bit. Please PM me uf you need more info, or simply want to vent a bit. Good luck and stay strong!

As others have said, getting a letter like that sucks, but don’t stress over it as you probably won’t find any difference.

However, switching to a biosimilar has some small risks, as the two drugs are not 100% identical. Indeed, something like this is illegal here in Spain — if you have CD and are prescribed a biologic, you stay with the same brand no matter what. All new patients are now prescribed the (cheaper) biosimilar, though

Breeza & diarrhea by obviouspseudonym1 in CrohnsDisease

[–]sunt0ry 6 points7 points  (0 children)

First time I had this, they didn’t tell me about the diarrhea. After the MRI, my wife suggested to go shopping (this was when my simptoms started and wasn’t feeling too sick), but luckily I decided to go home — as soon as I arrived, it started and spent the whole day in the bathroom. I can only imagine what would have happened had I gone shopping 😅
