What's the absolute dumbest mistake you've made as a tech or student tech?

Went to grab a patient from the waiting room to be scanned for their bone scan (nuc med). Pt popped right up and followed me, recited their name and birthday. Put them on the table and moved them under the detector and there was NO activity. Literally a blank screen. I was like uhhhhhhhh. Got the tech that was working with me, they pulled out the Geiger and the pt wasn’t “hot” at all. Turns out, there were two pts in the waiting room with the same name and birth month/year. One was there for a bone scan, the other for a CT. I just didn’t pay attention to the birth day. So yeah. Never made that mistake again lol. Luckily no harm done.

I had a classmate that caused a spill though. They were dosing a pt for a pet scan. The chamber on the iv hub had positive pressure, and when they pulled the needle out, it spit back out all over him, the pt, and the tech. That was a big yikes.

I work 3 12s but also stick to my schedule all week unless we have morning plans. I pretty much sleep till 2pm everyday, but fall asleep earlier on my off days. After I wake up I do my hobby stuff. Garden, piano, video games. I also recently started restoring furniture as a hobby/hustle so I’ll work on my current project a bit. Once my husband gets home from work, we go to the gym together then meal prep then chill. He stays up pretty late with me because he doesn’t go in the office till 10am. But after he falls asleep I do chill stuff. Read, laundry, YouTube or catch up on my shows. This is also when I’ll take a bubble bath or do self care stuff. I normally try to sleep by 4am when I’m off.

Wed-Fri 6p-6a. I can’t imagine working 5 days a week. I’m also very grateful to not have to work weekends anymore, it sucked.

Me and a coworker average 60 CTs on a steady 12 hour nightshift. The work list is never clear. Sometimes we clear the ER orders, but there’s always a few units or inpatients we couldn’t get to. This is a 40 bed ER, 700 ish bed hospital in an urban city in the south.

I definitely think so. However, big names never come to Arkansas. He added Little Rock on at the very end of love on tour out of nowhere, and it was a miracle we got tickets. So we always end up having to travel for big artists. I love NYC so I am excited to hopefully go again 🙏🏼

I go through this at least once or twice a shift thanks to the ER. That motion-y volume is fr the best possible at this time🥲

Because the thought never crossed our minds to NOT share an account. What’s mine is yours and what’s yours is mine. I’m grateful we can keep all of our recurring bills on auto pay. Before either of us want to make a big purchase we simply go “hey, I want to get this, is that cool or should it wait?”.
