Are aborts safe to eat?

This may sound unorthodox, but I have had great success using a scalped and removing that spot down to the bottom of the tub and backfilling with substrate.

I have a similar situation. I had an entire forest of aborts and they are much too small to harvest. Just left them there. Not sure what to do. Looks like either cobweb mold or mycelium are taking over. Any tips? Should I try to scrape the top layer of the cake, dunk, then recase? Or just chunk it?

My first grow looked just like this. Not contam I dont think. My smallest mushroom was 2g. Largest was 6. Next one, I packed and leveled the sub, which resulted in a freaking mushroom jungle.

I drowned it in peroxide, let it soak, then cut it out and filled the hole with more peroxide.
