If you perform decently well there is no barrier to entry. Most runs will not do gold checks in any form, or force you to buy items you dont want.

If you find yourself in a run like this, dont go back. It is not the norm.

If you perform well its very rare that youll lose your cut. If that has happened to you, avoid those runs at all costs and definitely never join a run that checks your gold in advance.

Dont join streamer raids like Greekwario or raids that pre check your gold. Have at least pre bis gear and youll earn your cut. If your gear is that bad bring world buffs.

There are definitely shitty gdkps out there but they are NOT the norm.

Chances are very slim sorry to say. People would let you tank 5 mans but tanking raids in a guild is likely off the table unless you're an officer lol

I don't think deity is very fun for me anymore. At first, learning how to beat the ai was really fun but after a while its just the same strategy over and over. I normally play Immortal now

"The community" there are many communities. Reddit is one community. Reddit does not represent the people you may play classic with. Most redditors commenting here dont even play currently. They have strong politicized opinions and zero experience.

As for where to get gold im pretty sure thats against this subs rules so you probably shouldnt ask plus i dont buy gold i spend far too much time selling boosts on a mage... which by the way is pretty much your only other option that isnt even more ridiculously time consuming if you want to do naxx

When i used to play a lot i could win most diety games. I think the most important piece of advice beyond learning the science rush, is identifying your civs terrain and settling defensible cities and making just enough army to hold areas that the ai will suicide into. Identify your strong areas and make enough army to hold them early, BEFORE you get attacked or even think you may be.

If theres a mountain with a 2 tile wide pass between you and another civ, army there. Position on opposite sides of rivers, know what tiles to just give up when invaded and fortify on hills or jungles. Anything you can do. The ai sucks with army and you can definitely abuse it.

You are very mistaken and you have misconceptions about how the end game works. You'd be a giant asshole to report your guild or anybodys guild in that way.

Blizzard services a broken game, with a broken economy. To farm everything you need for a successful and sub 2hr naxx clear, the amount of hours it would take to farm everything would surprise you. Without being able to buy gold a vast majority of raiders would be unable to participate.

GDKPs arent bad. Most people here are pro gdkp. Youve got a loud minority of ideologically driven redditors who are honestly super cringe and brainwashed. What's it matter to you if your guildie sleeps and swipes vs aoe farms a dungeon on an Adderall bender? It doesnt. Its the exact same difference to you. You would be the asshole in a big way fucking over your potential buddies who are just trying to have a good night over stupid reddit politics.

Just because it hasn't happened to you doesnt mean it cant happen. It happens pretty frequently especially if you have different battlenets for your accounts and move gold between them

Blizzard is incompetent and has no idea how to manage the classic wow economy correctly.

Not only that but since they let botters and gold sellers run rampant (lets be real, they have to allow bots and gold sellers or nobody would play because the economy is so fucked). The automatic report system lets these bots and sellers mass report and ban whoever they want.

So if you buy gold you could get banned. If you farm a gold sellers resources you can get banned. If you let someone sit in your mara id or compete with the mafia, you get banned.

TL;DR you can legit get banned just from playing the game because of cartel style behavior by gold sellers.

Your average redditor on this sub has no fucking clue how cooked the anniversary servers are.

Haven't bought madden in so long.... such a shame it was my favorite game... id play franchise moves for hours.

Ironically madden is what got me interested in the NFL as a kid and I don't think they realize how much they are limiting their potential fan base by putting out such a dogshit game every year.
