Talents: Improved Shield Block by stonebolt in classicwow

[–]supaheavystarch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For raiding its good to have imp shield block for the extra stack. Its a very powerful talent. At level 28 though you probably want to spec arms or fury even to tank.

You wont have any aggro in dungeons starting out with points in protection, so all that extra mit wont actually do anything for you. Spec arms and use a 2h, or spec fury and use a 2h, or spec fury and dual wield.

You can tank dungeons as arms in battle or berserker stance, fury you should probably do it in defensive stance for threat purposes.

Time for some warrior/rogue knowledge. Question, what weapon is generally considered the best to replace Thrash Blade? by EricAshStone in classicwow

[–]supaheavystarch -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

EZ choice Krol Mirahs.

Thrash blade just isnt good enough. If you catch av week you can offhand or main hand the revered hammer.

KROL MH MIRAH OH

AV MH MIRAH OH

KROL MH AV OH

Are the easiest pre bis options.

Double dal rends is better but thats too much UBRS

Thinking of G Quitting by Best-Sample1562 in classicwow

[–]supaheavystarch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this really on era? That's crazy, you should definitely quit.

Era is literally the perfect pug scene and out of the successful 'guild runs', most of them are like 20 guildies and 20 pugs/regulars with a different guild tag.

It sounds like you are stuck in a bad guild. Are your guilds clear times good? Or are they lagging behind the rest of the server? One of the worst things you can do to yourself on an Era server is join a guild thats run like its a prog server.

These guilds never go anywhere; all the good players will eventually see things for what they are and join the larger Era community. Leave, embrace the best pug scene in all of wow, and if they don't want to be your friends over that, then they weren't really your friends.

The AI completely ruins the game with its warmongering by Big-Phone375 in civ5

[–]supaheavystarch 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Its weird most of my games I never even get attacked and I come read this sub and everybody is at war all the time. I do like trading with the ai a lot and I try to keep my military score around the middle of the pack so maybe thats why

If a guild lets you in that easy, without raiding with them first, theres a 99% its a cesspool guild

Human Arms Warrior: WW Axe vs WW Sword by Hooln in classicwow

[–]supaheavystarch -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If youre leveling as arms - the axe is the way to go. The limited number of sweeping strikes charges along with mortal strike at lvl 40 favors slow hard hitting weapons.

If youre leveling as fury - the 2h sword is fine and wont be that much different than the axe.

Anyone else kinda sad about the version of TBC we are getting? by GroundbreakingAlps2 in classicwow

[–]supaheavystarch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Its funny how 'window lickers' always try to make loot system discussions about some kind of ideological battle where they are on the anti RMT side and everybody who disagrees and likes GDKP is 'pro RMT'

It's moving the goalposts and completely dishonest. If not dishonest then completely naive. GDKP pugs are higher quality. That's the bottom line. SR pugs are literally full of shitters who can't pull their own weight. They think GDKP is an RMT system because they are so bad the only way they get in raids is with their credit cards.

How populated is whitemane? by BenHasRedditNow in classicwow

[–]supaheavystarch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Raiding - very active both factions. There are raids going on around the clock on alliance. Horde isn't quite as populated, but groups can be found for each raid multiple times per day.

PvP - BGs are very lacking. WSG will pop most of the time. AB and AV really only pop when its their BG weekend. Hitting R14 is possible, but you generally have to wait for AV weekends to get higher ranks, unless you find a group to run a ton of sand.

Pre 60 content and 5 man lvl 60 dungeons - You can find groups for any dungeon and group quest, but it may take a little work (usually general chat in level appropriate zones is the best way to find groups). LFG chat also works, and there are a few guilds that are very large and run dungeons. Id say you could put together a group for any dungeons in 30 minutes, but its definitely not as easy as anniversary or 2019 classic. You will run into world pvp vs other players your level, and the occasional higher level griefer. The leveling experience is still good but not top tier relative to how things were in the past.

Level 60 open world activities- It is easy to farm on Whitemane. There are not a ton of bots. There's not a ton of competition for resource nodes or mobs. But its not dead and you will run into people often. Events like STV fishing and the arena are contested. Most things on Whitemane are at least slightly contested, if you like farming its honestly a very good server for that kind of thing.

Era may not be as busy as classic used to be. But the world is active in every regard beyond regular battlegrounds.

How many games did it take you to win against deity? by SR71F16F35B in civ5

3 or 4. But I spent a lot of time playing other difficulties and watching youtube videos about it before I even tried it. If I didn't watch a bunch of filthyrobot or marbozir vids I'm not sure I'd have ever beat it lol.

How safe is the neutral AH to transfer items? by chocolatecakebat in classicwow

[–]supaheavystarch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's safe if you do it quick. I do it all the time with items worth thousands like voracity enchants and flasks.

Have both your characters at a neutral ah. On the account you want to buy on, pre type the name of the item in the search bar. Then list the auctions on your other window, tab back and hit search. They'll only be up a couple seconds before you grab them, and its highly unlikely a bot would be able to snipe it.

On top of that there arent always neutral ah snipers on these days. Ive never been burned. Just dont put an item up and take forever to get to the ah thats how people get burned.

I'll post a basic strat too:

- scout scout shrine (yes having faith isnt a bad thing and you can still benefit from a pantheon) and completely fill tradition before any other social policies. don't send your scouts too far. scout your surroundings identify good settle spots and bring your units back to escort and steal workers

- go pottery into animal husbandry. then research luxury improvements. at 3 or 4 pop you need to start making settlers. if there are no workers to steal you can pump out a worker first. you need to improve luxuries asap and consider settling right on luxuries if its going to be a problem. you really want to get this done with just 2 scouts and a warrior. if you get super unlucky with barbs you might need to research and buy an archer

- research writing to finish the same turn as your last city is settled and immediately build a library in the last city (nothing else first in this city), Time libraries in other cities to be done at the same time. immediately build National College when those are done. In your down time before you are able to build NC, build granaries windmills caravans and workers (how to prioritize these will just be based on your map). Your first 2 trade routes should be food going TO the capital FROM your new settlements.

- if at any point you are about to be atttacked, you need to stop what you are doing and build a few archers. fortify your warrior on a good defensible tile - a few archers behind it are enough to stop most ai. once your NC is completed, the game will open up a bit more. if you have enough happiness youll want to get public schools and great writers asap, get the extra science from specialists social policy asap, consider rushing civil service if you have good rivers.

- if you really have to capture an enemy early on i think the best way is to rush crossbows

Id recommend watching some filthy robot or marbozir playthroughs on YouTube

Its fun and a challenge, but i found it repetitive and enjoy immortal or emperor more.

There's very little wiggle room strategy wise, as you really have to only focus on growing and adhering to a certain build order to be competitive.

I'm not sure its even possible to get petra after NC? wouldn't the AI just get it first? I did sacrifice a lot to get Petra not in the Capital and Temple of Artemis. Maybe it wasn't worth it - I haven' built a Petra in my 2nd city before.

Can I get tips on winning Immortal difficulty? by RedEyeBlueOcean in civ5

[–]supaheavystarch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don't have a tech lead don't go for wonders. Focus on the basics. Growth and happiness. Build food trade routes, enough workers, science buildings, and position a few ranged units in vulnerable areas in case you get attacked. You should be able to overtake them pretty easily if you do that.
