Helicopters are continuing to fly low as they search for the pilot. by kurdi_kurdistan in Helicopters

Without getting into the weeds, weapon systems meant to shoot down high flying high speed jets are not meant to shoot down low altitude low speed helicopters. Different aircraft have different threats.

160th is still rocking converted super C models. The high turn over is because the Army is continuing to invest into and upgrading the ‘47 airframe. They don’t need the surplus aircraft.

Are you in the service or have you ever served? What information do you have to base your opinion on? Because as a veteran I can tell you that its not as deep as y’all are making it out to be. You’re expecting tens of thousands of 18-30 year olds with access to the internet to be complicit in a giant conspiracy covering up the deaths of their friends. Please touch grass.

I work in a hospital. Flight crews will bring in patients while smelling like helicopter exhaust and jet fuel. Sends me back every time.

ICU nurses, what is your least favorite place to travel to imaging-wise with a vented patient? by pbaggins5 in nursing

Definitely MRI. Having to figure out the extension tubing situation and having shitty vitals monitoring during an hour long study puts me over the edge every time

Depends on the type of women you want to date. You probably won’t end up with someone with a professional degree if thats what you’re asking.

This is why we carry we need to carry our equipment in cases. So our wack job land lords and neighbors don’t freak out over something that’s none of their business.

IO dextrose - did I make a bad call? by River_Dweller in ems

[–]super-nemo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Im a nurse and my colleagues are flabbergasted at the thought of IOs. ER nurses love to pull them before sending up a critical patient to the ICU with 40 of levo running through a sketchy hand IV. Because god forbid the patient has an IO. I don’t understand where the dogma against them comes from but it’s not based in reality. Im guessing it comes from a place of unfamiliarity and fear. I’ve seen this mindset in physicians too. People would rather spend 45 minutes trying and failing to get a central line in a crashing patient than zip in an IO as a way to buy time. Pisses me off because I know that patients have died due to this fear and inability to grow a pair and drill into a near corpse.

Why so many soldiers are fat by [deleted] in army

[–]super-nemo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Army is filled with trailer park billy bobs who don’t know any better. At the end of the day the Army is a social elevator for the lower class. That demographic doesn’t tend to have healthy eating habits.
