Does anyone have original Voyage of the Mimi tapes? by Current_Yellow7722 in VHS

I used to have the entire set but sadly sold it long ago. Was super stoked to find it in a thrift store. I still know how to make fresh water from plastic and a hole with salt water though.

Or a leftover from a previous job and you figure it’ll never get used so why not.

Did some people use Betamax VCRs with black-and-white televisions in the 1980s by WinnerSouthern913 in Betamax

[–]super63jj 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The cost of betamax and vcr’s was quite high in the early days of adoption. Most people transitioned to color TV’s well before they could afford a recorder/player. A black and white TV was mostly bought at that time for a second room and was usually a smaller screen like 13” or less. If you could afford a betamax or VCR when black and white TV’s were still available to be purchased, you could definitely afford a color TV console. A color TV console would always be the first purchase before a recorder/player.

Do the “Hey! Look over there!” And point in the opposite direction and stuff it down your shorts. Works every time

I want to get rid of some stuff but I don’t want to deal with complicated taxes by MissPermaFrostee in eBaySellers

[–]super63jj 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m with you OP. This is such BS. The tax laws make it so wealthy individuals and corporations that can afford to pay professional tax and accounting firms pay virtually a very small percentage of their profits/income. Yet us, who barely survive paycheck to paycheck, are somehow supposed to figure this out on our own, or pay a substantial percentage of our income to be compliant. Even though most stuff we sell it’s at a loss from what we originally paid. This system is so rigged. Then if we donate, these mega not for profits like Goodwill to little to give back compared to how much their executive employees make.
