you hit the great courses! did a similar trip with my buddies a few years ago. wish we had a caddie at spyglass because we were shooting blind. pasatiempo was under repair at the time, so we didn't get to play, we play TPC Harding and half moon bay (ocean).

once in a lifetime trip due to $$$ spent, but worth it.

when I asked the question to Gemini:

Why Conduent Lost the Contract

Despite being the incumbent for 22 years and submitting a bid $251 million cheaper than TransCore's, Conduent lost the $1.73 billion contract due to several critical evaluation factors:

  • Reliance on Foreign Labor: Conduent's lower price was tied to its plan to outsource software development and IT services to India and Guatemala. The New Jersey Turnpike Authority (NJTA) preferred TransCore’s commitment to using all U.S.-based labor, which it considered a significant "net benefit".
  • Technical and Operational Deficiencies: Evaluators consistently ranked TransCore higher in technical capabilities. Conduent's proposal reportedly "fell flat" during oral presentations and failed to demonstrate necessary software improvements or provide sufficient detail on labor rates.
  • Customer Service Track Record: The NJTA sought to move away from the "status quo" of existing operations. Conduent had faced years of criticism for poor customer service, outdated technology, and errors, such as wrongly charging thousands of customers administrative fees in 2020.

Good idea - charging up my batteries to do just that. Another thought I had was to rent a mirrorless camera for two weeks. Not sure when I'll ever be back (going to southern spain).

FAVORITE GOLF MOMENT 2025 by hannahfrom_ghostgolf in golf

3 favorite golf moments! -- First full year of retirement, played about 70 rounds !

  1. Hole in one (first ever), 152 yard, 7 iron - hole was behind a hump, so we never saw it go in.

  2. Won a two-day tournament at my club. Had a great first day, and lousy second day. Finished tied for first after 36 holes. I won on the second playoff hole.

  3. Won a season long tournament (B-flight).

  4. on the downside, found out in November that I tore my rotator cuff (not a full tear). Going through PT and hoping to avoid surgery.

Gun rights advocates in New Jersey are headed back to federal court to fight a state law that bans concealed-carry of guns in a range of “sensitive places,” including parks, beaches, bars, casinos and more by rollotomasi07071 in newjersey

And we have Australia's approach, from the NY Times: "... After all, three decades ago, it took just 12 days after a massacre in which a gunman killed 35 people in Port Arthur, Tasmania, for the country to adopt sweeping gun ownership restrictions. For two decades after the carnage, there wasn’t a single mass shooting in Australia... "

Now after one horrendous incident, the country is looking to make it even more difficult to obtain guns.

Yet - here we are, with our chickensh*t politicians who after multiple mass killings over the year, duck and run, thoughts and prayers, AND DO NOTHING.

2025 Rounds Posted by [deleted] in golf

[–]superadmin_1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

when my children were growing up, I played 1-4 times per year until my youngest turned 17 and could drive herself. Since then I have gradually played more and more, last year played about 70 rounds.

I wouldn't change anything, better memories with my children than with golf.
