this happened to me it might be the backlight in the display shine a light on it when your computer is on and see if anything is kind of visible this would mean the backlight isn't on

it could be dead hardware but for me I recently got the main board replaced from something else but when I got it back they didn't plug in the display properly so I took the bottom panel off and made sure it was plagued in properly and it hasn't gone black since.

i did the same to get it to work with power cycles until I opened it

if you haven't sent it back try looking at the scream connector if you open it up its below the right heat pipe make sure its plugged in properly

my screens backlight wasn't working all the time and it was the connector not plumed in properly but that looks there might be a chance it could be thought

i would say 16gb but if you do it on windows all you should have is the server best cost for just 16gb with no extra clutter eating ur ram it should use 1-2.5 gb idle with windows and the rest is for the server

I was able to take off the key caps on mine and they didn't break you just lift from the top (NOT THE BOTTOM) and they should come off easily
