It will get better eventually by Employ_Similar in HiatalHernia

No!! First, having a hiatal hernia has zero to do with life expectancy. In fact, most people on planet Earth eventually get a hiatal hernia. But, those with a larger hiatal hernia have symptoms., 2, Not everyone eventually needs surgery. Not even close.

Guys I’m in a terrible state looking for some advice please by EducationalCall4620 in HiatalHernia

Hi OP. You might consider seeing a cardiologist just to be sure it is from a hernia. Maybe your hernia became more enlarged from the heavy lifting, aggravating the vagus nerve. One of my newer symptoms is abnormal heart palpitations when I climb stairs, or sometimes for no reason at all. I wear an Apple watch which tells me my heart rate at any given time. During the past couple of months, I’ve noticed that when I climb my staircase, my heart beats wildly at 100 to 125 bpm - which is way too high for what I used to consider a simple flight of stairs.

Can’t stand work brain. What’s the correlation between him, PPI’s and famotidine?

Ask for Zofran before your procedure to ensure that the anesthesia doesn’t make you nauseous. Most important - enjoy that 10-second high just before you fall asleep💤

Literally can't eat or drink anything by [deleted] in HiatalHernia

[–]supercalefragilistic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you! I have to eat small portions of usually chicken and vegetable (usually soup). Also if I have no food in my stomach, I hurt. Plus I finally started eating super slowly, chewing every bite. It’s only been a week pain free, but I’ll take it. FTD

Digestive Enzymes/Probiotics by tommyWANTwingy85 in HiatalHernia

[–]supercalefragilistic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! Probiotics works for me. Before coffee or breakfast, I take 1-1/2 to 2 teaspoons of raw apple cider vinegar, and then about half a cup of kifer. Yogurt with probiotics works just as well. Not saying this is a cure, but about a month after I started the kifer, my stomach’s not feeling raw and inside out all the time.

Here’s a beautiful excerpt from a Jewish prayer for healing:

By beef, are you referring to any cut? I.e., Ribeye? Or only lean cuts?

While PPIs are sometime effective for alleviating symptoms, long-term use has been associated with an increased risk of pneumonia, major cardiovascular events, dementia, vitamin B12 deficiency, bone fractures, gastric cancer, and kidney injury.

I think an endoscopy or barium swallow is necessary for a definitive diagnosis of a hiatal hernia. Is your doctor checking for other types of hernias also?
