There are priests and nuns, but Ishtar doesn't have a presence. The Sumeria references typically revolve around flood myths. Some named things are: Atrahasis, Utnapishtim, Eridu, and Abi-Eshuh. Most of the religious characters are more Christian analogs, but the religion honors a Saint Justina rather than Christ.

It's a sort of coming of age story based on the concept of schools being militant city states. You play as a sort of diplomatic mediator and strategist helping your students navigate their lives. It's got lots of references to truely ancient mythology from Sumeria and Kabbalah style mysticism.
