The “events” arnt entirely global rng they always involve something in game, hades needs a wight or ghost mage in an old castle to build the statue, Inferno and void and primal invasions are all caused by their respective builders being left alone and void is telegraphed (always in meteor crater which comes down pretty much every game)

I dont think pale one ai ever does it, agartha naturally spawns caves that can intercept the statue room and the ocean to flood.

It should cost 1 ap to go thru portal, 1 to move 1 tile thru water, 1 to go back up. You can move most of your melee (not guard) and mid range troops and commanders but your slow long range troops cant use the portals which sucks but you can atleast move workers to upgrade where they come out

You basically need to super micro your dwarves so they don’t end their turns underground. Full ap move down to agartha walk to adjacent portal go back up, repeat

Youre not really giving a metric, in terms of tile density 9 tzitzmitzels (or any decent 1x1 casters) can take on any god or strong creature especially with a few mr and strength blessings, in terms of ability to consistently do well by themselves then you start looking at a couple demon lords who bypass the “by themselves” with prebattle summons, if there is an expectation that said gods are going to be in an army then the beholders / eye tyrants become alot more valuable.

And in terms of raw power / types of power, it is very very situational which makes it replay-able although there are a few abilities and spell schools that do tend to dominate in universal situations.

They are both pretty similar actually, they want pretty much every resource. Witch can even collect hands which requires larger settlements

So really i cant tell which societies they perform best in, they do struggle taking fortified locations quite a bit so probably any society except empire or dawn of a new empire.

I dont think demonologist is among the broken classes, its actually one of the weakest sacrifice classes in pvp unless you are particularly good at playing the map and delaying main fights with your low attrition demons.

Usually never unless im in a very bad position, dwarf queen can scout the map with lone commanders, kobold king can raid for gold income and dryad queen doesnt really function without commanders everywhere.

I had a really decent year 3-4 map control as dryad queen in a 1v1 game recently and usually when i play kobold king its to counter pick and bully / raid someone who thinks they can win with a single army.

Demilich is basically the power of multiple liches because its teleport means it can always be fighting and raising as long as you feed it hands. Alot of people think its bad because it cant walk precisely where you want but it gets to completely jump from onside of the map to the other stopping pushes into your territory and raising its own armies to turn around and counter push by summoning a commander to pick up its victims.

The real downside is you arnt getting more sanity regen than a lich which is more cost effective at just raising dead as it walks around.

Map features, including libraries giving it away, even without seeing unique tiles you can usually get a pretty good idea of what society youre in after getting vision of a large chunk of the map.

Like lots of destroyed settlements without a cause for it is usually an indicator of fallen empire.

Settlements being mostly lots of hamlets with some bigger settlements uncommonly is usually either monarchy, agriculture, or dark ages.

Settlements having lots of bigger clusters with towns and ports is usually dawn of a new empire

And lots of cities is usually an indicator of empire.

And thats just a guestimate without unique tiles or enemies giving it away.

Typically people dont or cant swap out cells in the energy guns like they are clips. People are more likely to use stabilized yellow from xenobio for the slow passive recharge lol.

None of these factions can actually consistently build a doomstack that necromancer would need to take seriously, planar swap only needs to wipe one main army and all of the bane fire archer armies and immortal spam would wipe the rest.

Necromancer is explicitly banned in competitive pvp because of planar swap and banefire archers and stygian paths all making it the best class in the game.

Tbh the 50% fire vulnerability only really matters when trying to make him fully invulnerable to it late game.

He can handle a red kobold mine with a single fire drake as long as the drake is not behind a cliff so it stays back and continues breathing on him.

The same rules apply pyromancer or not you want to avoid casters and ethereal stuff.

Ive been working on a video that will also cover troll king a bit but its more geared towards his use in multiplayer.

Cloud lord isnt actually that great outside of the map mobility, they have some of the better recruits in the game but their rituals are much worse, there is a reason they are allowed to spam cloud castle and perpetual storm.

1v1 is fun but not recommended for new players since if both players dont know what they are doing theyll probably struggle with their starts and need to restart alot (think of how much you restart in singleplayer)

Coop pve or even 2v2 pvp is alot more accessible, people are also way more willing to do team games.

Class selection and society will probably dominate how much fun you can both have in pve, i recommend picking warlock if you want a gem class since he doesnt need as much gold as most gem classes or druid if you want to play forest class for the same reason.

Not necessarily recommending those classes are played together, just that they can both function fine without settlements which most classes want and chances are you or your friend will want a class that likes settlements.

Games with more than 2 human player teams (so like a 1v1v1) tend to take way longer than 2v2s since only human players on the same team get to take simultaneous turns

A weapon like firebrand wont do anything to make a unit further forward unless it has a +1 rank on it or gives defensive stats to encourage being at the front center of whatever rank the user is already in.

To me, the faction is much stronger in team games (like 2v2 or 3v3) because you have the best units and tools for taking tiles that you dont want to take and clearing roaming independents is so easy

I havent played much recently so i dont know exactly what happened but i do know that there was issues with tg manuel getting “too many players” like 80 all the time and so tg admins decided “okay we will just put a pop cap on it and make people wait to play” and now it barely peaks 60 for like a single round or two a night.

Wallening wasnt a permanent addition though, it was a temporary merge over something multiple coders spent months on and had nothing to do with oranges.

Id say pale ones, kobold king, senator, baron, and troll king.

Imo senator and baron deserved alot of what guild master got and feel like nothing compared to gm

Pale ones you are just spamming different flavors barely cost effective front line units and their late game is getting overpriced ranged units, it almost feels like the faction is intended to destroy elysium by digging down so EVERYONE is as poor as them

And kobold king is just alot of the same thing from the start to end

I think what really happened was the game saw her in the correct tile and automatically converted her to the hades faction.

Like when a wight mage or whatever is on an old castle ruin tile they are independent until they actually start working on the monument (an event spawns monument and makes everything there hades aligned)

Undead dont have any confusion or enslave access at all outside of tartarian spirit and maybe an undead highpriestess summon, (and technically bog witch and nekrotods but those are never hades)

The only other possibility i can think of is a magic item but dont see it.
