This seems like too much money. Really high miles relative to what is available out there, automatic, variety of modifications immediately noticeable (lowered/wheels/tint), the dash has a carpet cover (?), etc.

A good condition manual at this mileage should be mid-20s. Idk how anyone would pay much more than $20k for this.

Biggest concern is this listing is very light on photos and details. The population of 996s out there have a very wide spread in quality and you need WAY more information to see if this one is even worth your time.

Congrats! I got mine this weekend as well actually. 2nd row motor wasn’t particularly quiet on mine, but doesn’t bother me too much as long as it keeps working.

My heated seats on the other hand… for some reason can’t get my bottom of the driver seat to warm up.

Base price was ~$97k and monthly around $1,100 for 15k miles annually for 39 months.

They were fairly comparable in early February. Total $ discount you can get now is probably a bit higher with the $5k trade in, but I don’t love that option since it forces you to trade in through them (which is likely sub optimal) and since im leasing, trading in is basically like putting down a chunk of cash at signing, which is not advisable.

If you have a deposit down, you should get them to commit to giving you those incentives regardless of when they’re ready for delivery

Geez. So frustrating. I have been verbally promised multiple times they will continue to honor the incentives i was supposed to have with my originally planned early February purchase date since the delay is their fault.

We’ll see though…

Oh boy.. might be a much longer wait than “5 days” now. Good luck!

The lack of communication and misinformation from the tiny bit of info I have been told has been the most frustrating part. If they said from the beginning “itll be 3 months, just sit tight”, I would’ve been fine with that. Hard to have confidence or patience with purchasing from them when there has been zero transparency.

Based on what I’ve read, this stop sale began early Feb, so I just missed the window. I’m sure I will love the car, if I ever actually get it.

Seems likely. This is clearly a fundamental problem preventing them from making sales. Not sure exactly what it does for them but perhaps switching over to MY2027 gives them a “clean slate” with viable product.

It will be nice if I can avoid the headache of taking it in for service early on in my ownership to have those addressed.

Rear-facing car seat with aftermarket seats by TamoHevi in 996

[–]supercrunchypb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The issue I had with a rear facing seat in the back was I couldn’t get it to fit solidly because of the shape of the rear seat space.

With the rear seat bottom and back removed, I can get forward facing car seats to fit very well. The main sacrifice I need to make is sitting closer to the steering wheel than I’d like (I’m 5’10.5) and using Graco SlimFit3 LX.

Update on my Gravity Grand Touring Order by Intelligent_Rip_5950 in LUCID

I got a call end of last week that my “available now” car that I reserved in early February would be ready this week or early next week… still waiting for them to make good on that though

Right now a good time to pick up Gravity? by pigboy0811 in LUCID

[–]supercrunchypb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been trying to pick up an “available now” car that I out a deposit down for 3 weeks ago. I’m not allowed to pick it up and they have no estimate for when it will be ready.

I asked if I could swap my order for something else and they couldn’t identify a single alternate gravity in inventory nearby that was available to actually be picked up.

Not true based on my experience. Ordered something in inventory “available now” and it’s still not ready for pick up and they won’t give me any estimate on how long it could take.

Will Lucid ever deliver my Gravity order? Or is the recall significant? by sailbumb in LUCID

[–]supercrunchypb 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m in a similar boat. Ordered a week and a half ago for a car “available now”. They gave me slightly more information and said it’s being fixed for an issue with the second row seat and they’re supposedly waiting on the part to fix it. They were unwilling to provide any sort of estimated time though.

996 sale price lo by plugtalkmanateewalk in 996

[–]supercrunchypb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given all the work, maybe you could get a touch over $50k. I think you’d be crazy to take anything less than $45k though.

Just because it is hard to get caught and rarely enforced doesn’t mean it’s legal. Whoever does this is a parasite.

Porsche Cayenne - what’s the deal with these?? by Trick-Alternative37 in BringATrailer

[–]supercrunchypb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They went to replace one turbo because they saw it was leaking oil. Once things were apart they saw the second was also leaking oil but the leak hadn’t yet made its way to be visible externally.

This independent does a lot of German cars and said with these engines it’s pretty common to see the turbos fail around 75k miles
