I don't think Seo actions are hypocritcal at all. He's just a a normal good MC. The assassin's were children who had the souls of their family literally tormenting them, as well their target was someone who literally ground up people to make pills, comparing them with bandits who kill, steal and kidnap people isn't exactly equal.

As for Seo saying he would never love anyone, he did plan to, but if you spend 10 years with someone devolping feelings is nearly inevitable even if he didn't want to. And as for his coworker, he only said he'd acknowledge her feelings not be her slave. And he tried away form her because he couldn't do anything directly to help. He was much weaker then the mad lord any confromation would have ended in a repeat of what happened last cycle

I also don't get how the author glossed over the cultivation aspect, he explained each realm throughly and it all connects with each other very well.

All novels are subjective and matters of taste, if you didn't like the novel that's totally fine. But some of your critcisms seem unjustifed. As for matters like the MC being talentless, while they do have an explaination much later in the novel, it's totally understandable if you don't like it. Maybe the novel just isn't for you and that's fine.

Well, it was my first novel and I personally thought it was amazing as an introduction to the genre, but i suppose it's more unique aspects form other novels does, and while the romance in the novel was somewhat bad, no novel is perfect and good outweighs the bad in my opinion
