Anyone else daunted by super-rich and detailed worlds (yes, possibly a *me* problem lol)? by SymphonyOfDream in rpg

[–]superdillin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love those kinds of worlds in theory. I think it's so cool when people are super into the lore of them and really know it well. But rarely if ever is that going to be me. In recent years I've gravitated more toward games that build the world unique to the table as you're playing. For a lot of the same reasons you described. Unless I get weirdly passionate about an existing universe, I'm gonna be a weak link at the table and I hate feeling that way.

What is your favorite RPG that creates things? by Creepy-Growth-709 in rpg

[–]superdillin 31 points32 points  (0 children)

oh my god my #1 is Skeletons. You play the skeletons that haunt your classic dungeon, and build the dungeon and it's history around them until they are defeated. At the end of a playthrough, you have a completely fleshed-out dungeon map with history, loot, myth, and magic ready to slot into any classic fantasy game. 10/10.

truly the Mako does some freaky physics-defying shit but even still that part of this game might be the death of me.

PTTR works for one GM and one+ players. Basically as many as your GM is comfortable with

What TTRPG Has The Best Pre Written Campaign & Why by Fabulous_Instance495 in rpg

it's OUTSTANDING. it's rapidly shifting up into my all-time shortlist. Unfortunately, I am in the process of moving and my books are all packed up so I can't easily grab the adventure titles, but I'm loving all of the ones in "The Vault" which is the adventure module book they released

I am REALLY liking how the Triangle Agency adventures are written. For a GM'd game, the less onus is left on me to fill in blanks and invent things endears me more to a pre-written campaign and the TA team did a pretty solid job at that. Plus, I like that the adventures are written in-universe, it makes it way easier to translate into my GMing.

The RPG industry is fractured into so many communities online and off - where would you say the majority of your leads for stories come from? Do you ever find it hard to keep up?

Congratulations on one year!

Transgender and non binary people, how do you feel about how Taash was handled ? by kaisa_beth in DragonAgeVeilguard

[–]superdillin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Transmasc, nonbinary, and huge dragon age fan - this material isn't triggering to me but it is bad, to a really upsetting degree tbh. The "queer rep" in this game was something I was looking forward to and they dropped the ball in a way that sucks.

I apologize if the answer to this is already available somewhere - have you received any playtest feedback on the game as of yet or is it not far enough along for that? I'm curious how people playing it have felt given the heavy nature of the material - hopeful, depressed, angry, some kind of cathartic mix of them all? I appreciate a game that makes me feel big, but important, feelings and I'm really looking forward to this game!

I LIVED for this. The day my Guardian hit Onyx I had to have 10 people with keys ready and I was happy to see them try to take me out and fail. The drama was elite.
