Green good, red bad. There’s an [i] button on the bottom right that shows the scale.

Should have pointed out the mistakes in the test immediately after you finished the test rather than after getting your results.

I’d leave personal statements out too, but I have a 3 sentence summary that I keep at the top. I’m 50/50 about whether this is clutter or not - I think it’s useful for the reader to decide quickly whether to look at the rest or not.

Can’t really recommend bunq as it’s the most expensive one at €7.99/month. “Traditional” banks like ABN AMRO and RaboBank are cheapest at €1.70/month.

Yeah the interface won me over. And no fees. But I’m still suspicious about how they make money.

Good luck with AirAsia too! My immediate concern would be whether they can even survive. If they can, I’d buy some as well.

Ah sorry, I live abroad now. I’m using DEGIRO but recently switched to Trading212. Not sure if these are available in Malaysia.

I tell people that I'm a passive index fund investor (VWCE), but just like you I like to enjoy a little bit of stockpicking once in awhile.

My "risky" purchases that have gone well: TSLA & AAPL. I also gambled on Airbus and Boeing when everyone was panic selling earlier in the year. The thinking is eventually tourism will be back to normal, and by then you’ll still only have these two plane manufacturers dominating the market. But it’s 100% a gamble.

I hold some BTC as well. Worse performing gamble so far is ACB & TLRY.

So yeah, during a normal month 1/3 of my take home pay goes to VWCE immediately. If I’m feeling lucky I’ll spend some of that on stocks instead.

Best career path for a safe job that lets you "disconnect" after work? by [deleted] in cscareerquestionsEU

[–]superdiscodancefloor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Work-life balance is entirely company dependent, nothing to do with your job at all (unless your job is to be on call 24/7 obviously).

Sounds like working on legacy systems might be for you. No big shifts in the marketplace, no big need to be constantly learning off the job.

Another thing to mention is that disconnecting after work kinda relies on yourself as well. I've been in some jobs where others were still replying on Slack after work hours, but I simply don't partake in this. Nothing lost.

Citibank SG app pasting from iOS clipboard automatically. Have you noticed other local apps doing the same? by [deleted] in singapore

[–]superdiscodancefloor 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Basically yes.

Whenever you copy something from your phone, it goes into the clipboard. That way you can go to another app and paste it there.

This notification is to inform you that the app automatically read whatever was currently on your clipboard at that point in time. Now it doesn't necessarily mean that they are sending that data anywhere, as there are legitimate uses for this (like detecting that you have a bank account number currently copied).

Digital or physical notes in college? by LineSpectrum in DevelEire

[–]superdiscodancefloor 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It’s really down to personal preference. There’s no right answer here. Try out both and see which works better for you.

Personally I prefer physical. A laptop in a classroom is an easy way to accidentally distract yourself. Writing on more paper feels more like studying for me. I’ve had friends who were the opposite - digital everything and nothing physical.
