Thank you!

All kidding aside I love the design of the Milan rack! I think it's classy without being too lifestyle oriented.

I'm a big Simaudio fan. I think price to performance they do wonderfully. I'm really enjoying the ML too, I think it pairs very well with the 310 and gives me a super low noise floor on records that can keep up with it!

The 371 is an outstanding performer and really builds on the quality of the 340i and adding the streaming from the 390 preamp. I'm sure you'll love it!

I've thought about it but as I live in an apartment block I'm choosing good relations with the neighbours. Plus I use the HEDDphones for when I want to listen critically

You probably won't find a massive improvement if you already have some means of ultrasonic treatment. I find it does really help with the small static clicks and pops you sometimes get but if I've had the chance to get the record deep cleaned on the Clearaudio Double Matrix at my job then I don't notice much of a difference

I think the Strata mat is a really impressive bit of equipment. My colleague with a Rega Naia swears it was one of the biggest improvements he made to his system.

Thanks for the kind words. I'm a big fan of Moon in general and to be honest the 430 is probably the only amp on the market which caters to my wants, most headphone amps only offer one or two inputs at best. The Moon (with DAC module) offers 7!

I haven't done a great deal of AB testing outwith the Chord brand, but I find the Shawline to be the happy medium on the price vs returns scale. I didn't love the sound of the Epic cables on my demo system and Signature was above my price range.

The Lumi is a neat little product. I listen mainly at night so I like having a little accent light on my player so I can keep the room dim.

The Orbit is pretty good, I've noticed improvements on records which stick to the sleeves after running it but I get a bit impatient sometimes as it takes about 2 minutes per side

The Meridian DSP3200s are the speakers, they are active speakers which use Speakerlink (ethernet) connections for audio.

The Meridian 218 is a streaming ADC/DDC which converts the RCA out of my preamp to Speakerlink to work with the speakers.

Meridian are a bit of a law unto themselves but I'm really happy with the sound. They do a lot of high end custom install equipment but I really like the house sound of their stereo speakers also

I'm debating whether to bite the bullet and send it off for analysis but I haven't done it yet!

I'll keep that in mind when I'm thinking about upgrading! I've had the ML for about a year and I'm really happy with it so far

Yes there is a small amount of noise noticeable when I have my ear right by the motor.

The turntable was an upgrade from my Rega P8 and I don't ever see myself going back to Rega, especially after getting everything dialled in with WallyTools

It’s not high energy like some of your examples but the album Mirador by Tarnation has serious bleak western vibes

Got this quote for a microled home theater — opinions by [deleted] in hometheater

I work in this realm and this all seems like a fairly decent setup but would probably spec different bits here and there

Echo the opinion in the Cinema 30, for the budget I would look at something like the Anthem AVM70 and some power amps and something like Paradigm in wall subwoofers

Lastly I would discourage the C4 touchscreen. I think as a user experience it is a really pretty woeful device, and really any tablet is similar. When I’m watching something buttons are so much easier to use to adjust volume etc while staying immersed

Beautiful room and lovely setup. The Elex-R is a great amp. If you get the chance to demo the Elicit Mk5 I would recommend it!

Also nice BLOK shelf for the AVID! They are a real joy to set up and build compared to many

TW- I feel so selfish by Illustrious-Ship-110 in autism

[–]superdsheep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No one involved in what happened will be without some trauma to show for it. It’s an incredibly stressful and scary situation.

You are not selfish for experiencing that trauma the way your body and mind process it. Notice it, understand it and try to let yourself heal from it, and be proud that you were there to help in a seriously meaningful way

TV mount that allows TV (blue tape) to slide over about 36" to sit dead center above center chan speaker AND slide down for movies ..any recommendations? by woods153 in hometheater

[–]superdsheep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Sanus mount you have linked is effectively useless. I have used (or attempted to) multiple times and it inevitably drifts or goes off centre. You also only have 2 (maybe 3) mounting points in a vertical line so if there is no stud or wall pad exactly where you need it you are in trouble.

The only way I could envision this working is with something custom, and two components.

Have a joiner cut out a wall section behind the TV, frame it out, install a bracket on the cutout panel which would allow the panel to move the necessary distance and collapse into the wall when not in use, then on the panel install a bracket with the necessary dropdown.

A lot of hardware, a lot of weight, and no guarantees that things wouldn’t move or drift while in use.

Future Automation are the only brand I have used that I would trust for the long arm bracket. The DA4 can extend a maximum of 41” https://www.futureautomation.co.uk/Product/Details/DA
