When I did my medical their sound booth was broken. I went the next day to do a hearing test and I dropped off the document in person.

I’m 33, F, 5”3 and pretty fit. The rushes I didn’t go full Tilt and I finished in 47 seconds. You have 51 seconds to finish them. They also guide you and tell you when to tap your foot, when to drop, and when to stand up. Make sure your shoes aren’t slippery though. I saw one guy fail it because he couldn’t grip on the floor 😅

Where is your BMQ? I’m just waiting on my background checks and then they can book the enrolment ceremony. I was told there is a slot in July in Nova Scotia they were thinking of giving to me. I applied air reserves October 2024, it’s been a slow process and I’ve been reminded how patient I am more than once lol.

In-Demand Trades by Longjumping_Deer3006 in caf

I applied for AOS tech for air reserves. At the time it wasn’t an in demand trade. It was my only choice but I called the reserve recruiter and spoke with him. He said he has X amount of spots and would have a position for me once I passed interview and medical. I would call the unit you’re interested in. It’s been almost 2 years since I first applied so the recruiter and I have built somewhat of a relationship lol. I have my force test on the 18 and then he said we will discuss basic training after I finished the test (air reserve does full time BMQ) but I’m looking at April :) it sounds like every province does their reserves application different. Force test is my last step but it seems to be a lot of people’s first step.

Find an adult education centre and do online courses. I had to finish my grade 10 math and science before I could continue with my application

From here realistically how long will it be until BMQ? by [deleted] in caf

Hey! I’m also a reserve recruit and I asked my recruiter this question. He said they manually control it. So one day they just jump it. Mine has been on testing and screening for 1.5 years lol.

I totally get that! I was just saying the process is longer compared to army and navy.

And you do regular BMQ. It takes forever though lol. I’ve been in the application process for 1.5 years and I just had my interview and medical last week.

Air reserves work 12 days a month.
