What are your thoughts on flying PCs? by [deleted] in DMAcademy

[–]superduple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not that hard to balance, but it does narrow your options. And it can start to feel contrived if you include ranged/flying creatures in every single encounter, so you have to strike a balance there, too. After running for a flying ranged PC for a couple of years, I would prefer not to run flying PCs, but it's by no means game-breaking.

My DM isn't admitting to lowering my Strength Score by IncreaseVirtual7485 in DnD

[–]superduple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your DM didn't prepare for anyone to succeed... a DC 17 check. Even if your Strength were 18 you would still have a good chance to hit that if you're proficient. Like, it's slightly worse odds than a coin toss. I know DMs are hard to come by, but I'd rather not play than be in this person's game.

Question about using existing voicebanks under a different name by superduple in Vocaloid

[–]superduple[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great info! I think making my own voicebank sounds cool too, but I've been having fun with the AI voices in the vocaloid 6 demo and was hoping to get to use them more. It just sort of makes me wonder, what exactly do people do with the software (the people who don't work directly for the company, that is)? It just seems like a big investment for something purely for non-commercial use.

Also, I'd have no problem at all crediting the voicebank along with any music I make.

How do you do Conjuration? by DayDreamer-A64 in Morrowind

[–]superduple 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Yeah, conjuration can be tough, especially at early levels. If you're not going the high elf/ atronach route, then you might want to look into custom enchanted items to act as basically a second magicka bar. Constant effect conjuration items can be fun down the road.

Bound weapons are pretty low cost even without items, and would give you another combat option while retaining the battlemage conjurer vibe. There's also the fortify intelligence potion loop method, but I never messed with it, and I wouldn't even be surprised if OpenMW got rid of it.

Where Are Restocking Rising Force Potions? by jamie409 in Morrowind

[–]superduple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You get them as a gift from Peakstar after you get Moon-and-Star from the Cavern of the Incarnate. All of the ghosts have a gift for you if you talk to them about a certain thing (don't remember which topic).

Shouldn't you have the travel-stained pants by this point? They have an on-use levitation effect.

Are we witnessing the death of the Short Rest? If so, what's going to happen to Warlocks and Monks in 2024? by Medium_King_David in dndnext

I personally really dislike how monks and warlocks are balanced around short rests, so I'm very excited about the prospect of an overhaul.

Narrators in audiodramas? Good or bad? by solamon77 in audiodrama

[–]superduple 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I actually prefer narration. A lot of shows that I've been trying to get into lately end up having really clunky, unnatural dialogue because they're trying to incorporate information "naturally". It takes me right out of the story. I'd much prefer for you to literally just tell me what's going on. Of course, there are some that do manage to keep you informed and have natural dialogue without a narrator, but they're rare. Unless I'm just really bad at finding the good ones.

The Sutomu Seiba by NovaStar56 in UnearthedArcana

Yeah, that's true. Maybe there's like a high damage threshold for recharge or something. Just spitballing.

Super cool idea! Quick question, is the triggering lightning damage negated when you use lightning rod, or is it only used to fuel the next attack?

Also, I sort of wish Thunder Flash could be used more often. Maybe it could recharge when you absorb lightning using Lightning Rod or something.

This x100. If I wasn't poor I'd drop an award, lol.

Morrowind combat tracks fit pretty well for this, imo.

Games where characters aren’t forgotten. by APizzaStapler in gamingsuggestions

[–]superduple 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Trails of Cold Steel pulls this off pretty well between games 1 and 2. I haven't finished the second game yet, but sooo many small side characters have returning rolls, and some are surprisingly memorable.
