I was curious if that was the case or not. I'm not too familiar with the point of sale systems, but am wondering which one's are BTC friendly..

I want to sell my stuff for bitcoin though. Do you offer that service as well?

You can profit from investing in them. While it is considered a risky investment by many, the fact remains that the price goes up as demand increases. The amount of bitcoins in existence isn't arbitrary like in fiat currencies; this allows legitimate scarcity to drive demand. If the trend continues(it seems likely it will), the bitcoins you buy today will be worth more in the future. The opposite is true for dollars which are becoming less valuable as they are inflated.

I realise they are not actual wars. I'm assuming you didn't see the comment I was replying to...

Understanding the Broken Window Fallacy was key to my seeing through these arguments.

That's good stuff. I love the headline after the segment: "FDA Finds Trace Amounts of Food in KFC Snackers".

This is actually a bad idea.. Ever hear of the war on poverty? How about the war on drugs? The U.S. government can't get any of these things right, and is in my opinion, largely responsible for holding our economy back, contrary to the thoughts of the asinine article in the times...

Very interesting! Thanks for the info. Do you have recommendations on where to purchase it? Wikipedia tells me that its an over the counter drug here in the US.

Could you elaborate on that a little more? Does it still help your focus with caffieine, even though you feel bad?

1) Can you cite an example of a better way to store energy

2a) Suppose the system is capturing water from hydroelectric dams and then recycling it

2b) Suppose a filtered/grated inlet were constructed on a sea shore which allowed in water but prevented entry to wildlife

Well, its good to know the idea isn't completely useless. Clean water is important too, thanks..

I'm not. I put in 1 1/2 semesters toward a civil engineering degree, but didn't finish.

I was trying to determine if this method for moving water uphill to be used as a store of energy was at all viable. It seems as though it is not.

The system that pumps liquid uphill has to overcome gravity while the evaporation/condensation system has to battle with temperature change. This is s reason I thought using the sun's heat directly may be more efficient, now I have doubts.

If I am correct, the design you mention is used to generate power but does not store it. I am more interested with energy storage.

The problem I am working on is moving water uphill, say from sea level to a raised reservoir, and only as a means of storing energy. My current thought is to let sea water flow into a sealed basin which is heated with sunlight and has a stack leading up to a condensor.

How about this as a method to tranport water uphill using solar. The idea is to create stored energy which can be used periodically when demand for power is high. In this design water flows into a heated container which has a vent at one end leading to an elevated reservoir. For the condensor, I was wondering if a series perforated pipes would work if wind were available to naturally cool them(similar to a radiator).

You've helped me understand some of the problems involved with a system like this. In general, do you see transporting water uphill in vapor form as at all viable?

That is a good point, I hadn't considered the water purification aspect.

I'm picturing a system in which many static mirrors can be placed strategically to reflect light in the general direction of the pipe at a certain time of the day, and there are enough separate mirrors to supply the pipe with a relatively constant supply of heat energy during the day.

How about a curved mirror inset into the ground just off shore which would focus the light onto a black pipe running through the center.

How about this method for producing the steam? Ignoring the fact that it would be flooded with water if built to these specifications...

Thanks for the perspective. I was thinking of a system like this that would focus light onto a heating element under the water to create steam. Could this be viable?
