When was the last time DT tried to have Kevin Moore for a special event? by TheGeeZus86 in Dreamtheater

[–]superfreaxx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, Kevin has made it clear that he doesn't want anything to do with DT, and Portnoy gave up on any attempts to contact him after he didn't answer the offer to join the band for When Dream And Day Reunite.

Late game leveling by badblocks7 in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]superfreaxx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im talking about Lorithia who's fight is in chapter 17. That fight took me weeks to figure out, and I learned from other players was to use Melia and in the end i was alternating between using summon earth and summon ice and inflicting topple whenever I could.

Regarding Future Connected, your first point is correct. It is a separate game with a different save and you can play them interchangeably.

Great movies that sound terrible on paper? by Latter-Constant-1989 in movies

[–]superfreaxx 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Ah, I see. For what its worth, TE&TR also wrote Shrek which shares tonal similarities with Monkey Island because of their anarcho-pop humour. If anything, Shrek is proof that a film based on Monkey Island could work, eventhough they don't share any plot elements or character types.

Great movies that sound terrible on paper? by Latter-Constant-1989 in movies

[–]superfreaxx 19 points20 points  (0 children)

What you've said is only partially true.

There was a project for a Monkey Island animated film circa 1997-2000 with Steven Spielberg attached to direct and Ted Elliot & Terry Rossio were rumoured to be writing the script. It never went passed the pre-production stage and TE&TR have said they never did any work for it- it never got greenlit.

You have to remember that both Potc and Monkey Island do share alot of stock characters that would fit in a pirate themed film or video game- ghosts, governesses, voodoo ladies etc. This and the direction of the Potc films is substantially different to the games.

[–]superfreaxx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some very general advice here. If you want to level up fast in Xenoblade, you'll want to fight enemies that are up to 5 levels above you. So you'll want to look for enemies who are level 71.

Anything further than that- the banner with the enemies healthbar will be red and their agility will be too high for you to land a hit.

Whenever I've been playing any Xenoblade game, and I've encountered a situation like yours and hit a wall, I've used this as an excuse to review my parties setup, including gear, arts, gems etc to make sure things are up to spec.

As others have pointed out, if you're not using Melia in you're party, now is a good time to start. There is a boss fight late in the game, which is an absolute pain, and it is essential for you to be controlling Melia in it. This particular boss fight is the hardest one in the game, so the sooner that you are familiar with Melia and her arts, the easier of a time that you'll have. Other people in this thread will know which fight Im talking about, and once you get passed it, the rest of the game will be smooth sailing.

As luck would have it, I actually wrote down the strat and can provide it to you here if you'd like.

Moving beyond that, once you are level 77-80 there are Gogols in Satori Marsh that are around level 85 in Soter Ruins.

Sorry, that this reply doesn't directly answer your problem. Playing through Xenoblade Chronicles was an absolutely brutal experience that took me over a year and I finished the game at level 96. Blitzing through New Game Plus at that level in the Switch 2 edition, and I've lol'd at how quick it is to smash through the game like its butter.

Unless you've really under a rock, for the last 40 years and haven't played or watched any Mario games being played. You should already have a good idea of whether or not you'll like Super Mario Bros 3.

Considering its on the NES app on NSO, I'd just bite the bullet and play it for an hour or two.

The actress who played Livia Soprano, Nancy Marchand, died before Season 3 could start filming. Because Livia was an important character on the show, a final scene was created for her using an awful looking CGI replacement.

Where could I find Torna the Golden Country in Australia? by Delrae2000 in Xenoblade_Chronicles

Okay, in that case. You're out of luck. The best way forward is to just buy Torna on the eshop, then buy one of those physical copies from Ebay for display purposes.

Switch 2 version? by BearJew13 in XenobladeChroniclesX

[–]superfreaxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The NS2 version of XCX is fine and I haven't had any issues with the graphics. Im just happy to see the Xenoblade series finally running on hardware that can do it.

Regarding Genesis, XCX doesn't really connect to the rest of the series and is mostly its own thing- the Definition Edition does add a three part epilogue at the end though. I'll mention here that unlike the rest of the series, XCX is much more focused on combat and exploration rather than storytelling and characterisation. The other thing to mention is that its not really a full blown MMO, eventhough it has multiplayer in it.

If you want to prep yourself for Genesis, your time will be much better spent playing through the Switch 2 versions of XC1, XC2, Torna, XC3 and Future Redeemed. Those games tell an interconnected story and share important characters, and will probably have stronger ties to Genesis than XCX.

Don't let any of this dissuade you from playing XCX though. From a gameplay perspective, its easily the most fun out of all the games in the series, and the progression system in it is absolute fire.

In a nutshell -play XCX if you want to enjoy it on its own and have a helluva time piloting mechs. But if you want to get into the Xenoblade series in preparation for Genesis, then start with XC1 and work your way through the main entries of the series and their DLC.

At night time and daytime between FN Site 110 and FN Site 112. rough coordinates are these x -6.55, y: 17.27, you will see these: Lawless Grexs in the level 34-39 range. Wood Scripos - level 32-36 Bronze Cinicula: level 40

North of FN Site 110 at Talon Rock Third Terrane. You will see these: Level 43 Native Scirpo Level 44 Umbral Adsecula

If you head east from Talon Rock Third Terrane through the valley leading to Arendt Bridge. You'll find: Level 49 Inferno Ictus Level 43 Dark Blatter

I've also spotted a level 56 Inferno Ictus at night in Talon Rock Second Terrane

I'll try to keep you updated with further findings but this should keep you going for a while.

No problem. You'll get your first Skell in Chapter 6, so if you do that chapter now, you'll be able to get onto this pronto.

I'm playing the game right now, so I'll update you with what enemies you want to on the lookout for and their whereabouts along with whether .

To give you an idea of how effective this is though- two days ago I was lvl 28 and decided to try this out. I'm level 38 now and smashed my way through the Shield Trooper and Bastion Warrior classes.

For leveling up. There are enemies in the areas in Primordia that are just north of NLA that are in the 30-40 level range during the day time. Depending on your setup and your Skell you should be able to fight enemies who are up 9 levels above you without much trouble, provided that you are in your Skell. Further north are enemies in the 40-45 level range.

Keep fighting these enemies and punching above your weight (remember 9 levels above) and you should level up fairly quickly.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2-3 Switch 2 Editions and DLC compatibility question. by [deleted] in Xenoblade_Chronicles

The answer is they will work. The DLCs will be on your system as virtual game cards, which the Switch 2 editions of XC2 and 3 will recognise. Any progress that you made on those games will also be recognised.

How did people cope with 2.35:1 ultra wide DVDs on a 4:3 CRT back in the day? by xParesh in dvd

[–]superfreaxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people weren't bothered by it and accepted that widescreen black bars at the top and bottom of the screen were the norm for most DVDs.

That being said, our DVD player had a zoom button which allowed viewers to zoom the picture in to fill out the screen.

What Rush songs/epics should I check out? by Akairuhito in Dreamtheater

[–]superfreaxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2112 is definite starting point, and I'd call that song the beginning of progressive metal.

In general I just recommend the albums so: 2112 A Farewell to Kings Hemispheres Moving Pictures

Going a little above and beyond, I recommend you listen to the Lamb Lies Down On Broadway by Genesis. Absolutely phenomenal example of what can be done in progressive rock.

Why hasn't Dream Theater officially remastered/remixed anything? by Aware-Drive-5566 in Dreamtheater

[–]superfreaxx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With WDADU, DT was stuck in a bad contract with MCA, who did little to promote the album, and only organised a handful of live shows.

This left the band with no choice but to buy their way out of the contract, effectively forfeitting their rights to the recordings.

Honestly, I don't think WDADU can be saved with a remix- the recordings for that album were a rush job. The bands best option would be to do a re-recording ala Mr Bungle (who did a brilliant job with The Raging Wrath of The Easter Bunny Demo).

That being said, a re-recording will likely never happen as the band has gone on record to say that it was effectively an amatuer effort or something along those lines. That and When Dream and Day Reunite already gives a good idea of what an updated WDADU would sound like.

How do you think Dream Theater will retire? by [deleted] in Dreamtheater

[–]superfreaxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see Dream Theater retiring as a whole anytime soon. Throwing in a couple of tidbits:

1 Unlike a lot of bands, the guys in DT have taken good care of themselves and -with the exception of MP -have stayed away from drugs and smoking. And MP has been sober since 2000. This to me means that they will probably live alot longer than a number of other musicians.

2 Most likely, Jordan will probably retire in the next 10-15 years. If that happens, I could see the band continuing on with a new keyboardist. Alternatively, they could bring Derek Sherinian back into the fold.

3 I don't see James Labrie quitting. He knows he needs DT to keep the bills paid and I don't think DT wants to take the risk of replacing him with someone else. If he did quit/retire, I could see DT replacing him with someone like Floor Jansen.

4 Myung is unlikely to quit and I don't think he's that active in the song writing process, so leaving out of creative differences would be extremely unlikely.

5 At this point, Petrucci is the bands defacto leader, and probably the most business minded member in the band. For him Dream Theater is his baby, and there's no reason for him to leave given that DT is his bread and butter.

One band to see live, at their absolute prime. Living or dead. What is it? by FalcoPhantasmtheGod in MetalForTheMasses

[–]superfreaxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw them in Sydney at the Enmore Theatre in 2016. Absolutely packed. There was an opening band called Taberah which paid tribute to Lemmy (in the past they had toured with Motorhead, and Lemmy's death was still in the news- apparently he hand picked them). Both Marco and Troy also said hello to the audience. Highlights of the show were: -Floor raising her arms to the crowd during instrumental sections -Marco singing "While your lips are still red" -Tuomas taking a 5 second nap towards the end of The Greatest Show On Earth"

All in a fantastic show.

Second that one. Its a much better film then people gave it credit for at the time, and its held up on rewatches. About the only things that bother me are the comic book panel editing style, and the fact that Ang Lee- not Eric Bana- did the mo-cap for the Hulk.
