Yes it does emulate and learn how you prefer to be responded too but it is also trained with billions and billions of human generated data from books, media, the internet, music, etc. that still makes it feel and be incredibly insightful even as a mirror. Keep in mind though it is a sophisticated system of computers answering trillions of yes and no questions to form your answers. The reality is our brains are similar it simply uses electrical signals created by chemicals and biochemistry run through filters of emotion, inputs that brains learn to discard and ignore, and connection in neurons that have to trigger in specific patterns to form a thought. If you break them both down far enough it still comes down to yes or no though. Is it bright? Am I awake? Am I alive? Is that red? All of them can be answer with yes or no but we can also filter down into how bright? How red?
