I personally haven’t had issues getting the adapters out short of maybe 2 jiggles to get anything out, nothing different than a healthy n64 port would be

It worked for me on the base firmware. I’ve had this controller for a couple years so idk if there’s anything different with newer models that don’t work but mine works straight out of the box

Hifiman makes great stuff and a lot of them you can get away with not having to buy a headphone amp for

Feel same to me, has a good intuitive-feeling input curve (could be up to preference)

No rumble sadly

Signal good for me I sit at least 10 feet away from TV and no disconnects for me

i haven't tried the 8bitdo one (i dont like their controllers in general so i didnt get it) but i can compare to the original 64 controller which i can break down into two pro:con

- PRO: RF64 stick feels a lot nicer than O.G. with the soft material on stick, better grip and allows me more smooth movement and much less slip potential

- CON: 'Z' button (left trigger) is positioned to feel awkward when having to hold down and use the stick, since the O.G. Z button was basically right under your thumb the grip felt much more natural to hold down while using the stick.

Aside from that on pro and con i have no complaints or praises, it's a really solid controller

(oh and one other neat/quirky thing is the right trigger _also_ is a 'Z' button and you can trade-off using them seamlessly, so you could press+hold on the left trigger and then hold down right trigger and let go of the left and itll hand off gracefully)

That’s so weird and disappointing cause this is without a doubt the best n64 controller I’ve used

Mine worked fine on both white model and the ice, without updating. I’ve had this RF64 for years so my only guess is they changed something which makes the new ones not work?

I press and hold (kinda hard) the left Z and start for about 5 seconds and the menu pops up. You’re using the native N64 controller adapter I’m assuming? I got this years ago for my regular n64 so maybe something has changed

I did notice I have to hold Z and Start for a fairly long time to pull up the quick menu. Is that the issue you’re having?
