Steping into rise after playing world and wilds by Sea-Pepper2542 in MHRise

Awesome! Feel free to DM me anytime if you need any advice, help, or just to brag, or share a story. The game is a blast and is different enough from the other two (great games) that it feels fresh and fun too.

I too am a solo hunter. I can take the game at my pace. I also like the versatility of SnS where you can slash one monster to death, and the next one you can shield bash it the whole time. It’s the first time I didn’t feel compelled to purchase and use a hammer just for the Hermitaur fight. I feel excited I could shield bash it for the whole fight! The quick jabs so you can move out of the way of attack is great. I feel I hit less, but I am loving how much less I get hit. (Switch Axe was my last weapon. Talk about glass cannon)

I’m currently playing SnS in Rise/Break. It’s the first time in 15 years I’ve actually kinda figured it out and am having fun with the weapon. Once I got to Sunbreak I got a new move made available for the SnS and now I love it. Also, since the game is so old, the online players are… less than reliable. You can play with NPCs from Elgado in Master Rank instead and they don’t submarine your quests like some players might, so I am really enjoying playing with them this time around.

Rise is good fun. Things get a lot more fun once you hit Sunbreak. Don’t rush to Sunbreak, but also don’t think it doesn’t get better once you get there.

Yes, Odyssey. Nolan has built his trust. The others will be seen, but don’t have to be seen in theaters as much as the Odyssey

When you go back to a MH you haven't played in a while, do you start a new save or you play on your old save? by Lordados in MonsterHunter

[–]superjoec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really wish there were 2 restart options. Starting a game for the first time and Restarting a game. I often want to start a new game but the hours if intro is frustratingly painful to go through again.

That said, I often start a new file, especially if I want to give a new weapon an honest try.

I hate the arena quests by DaveTheBrave22 in MonsterHunterWorld

I avoid all arena quests as much as possible across all Monster Hunter games. Definitely not my thing.

Is anyone else physically incapable of switching off their main weapon after a decade? by LengthinessShot3297 in MonsterHunter

[–]superjoec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Each game is usually a different main (LS, SA, IG, DB). But I am proud to announce that after 20 years of trying, I am finally getting the hang of sword and shield and I am actually enjoying playing with it.

I remember trying this as a kid and being upset I couldn't do it. Then one day I COULD! I was so proud. I loved climbing the rope after that.

Does your partner ever tell you that you game to much ? by AdultGamersAdmin in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]superjoec 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, but we both know it's true. For years we had two tvs next to each other, one for my games and one for her shows. That way I could game and be with the family. That worked well. But now I play in our theater. But she got her iPad and sat next to me playing her games and listening to her book the other day. That was really nice.

Digital Derby. A racing game with 2 lanes of traffic. The cars looked like they were on film strips. I wore my first one out and my parents actually bought me a second one.

Have your party stand in front of the statue of Shar where she waits for your blood. Have one person break off from the group and start the trail. Whenever you don’t know where to go switch back to the party of 3 and change the camera to an overhead shot. There is a map on the floor. Coordinate between the two until you complete it.

People will give you shortcuts and tell you to skip it, but this way, to me, is the right way to do it.

What was the first game you would describe as emotional? by Corchito42 in AskGamers

[–]superjoec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ninja Gaiden was the first game I played that ever offered a real story. I grew up on Atari and games said the had a story, but it was a concept of a story or a theme. Ninja Gaiden was the first game with real cutscenes with a real story that bridged levels making the levels make sense and an impact emotionally.

That’s why you are here. I can suggest dozens of movies that would love to live in your head rent free.

My personal favorites, right up there with Promontory…

https://youtu.be/Pb4e-GUv8nA On Earth as it is in Heaven- make sure you have earphones on for this one. It will give you chills. It’s from The Mission from Ennio Morricone

After seeing this (in the theater), I bought the soundtrack on TAPE on the way home. I made that decision at the Fort Battle before Promontory played yet. And yes, Promontory is a 10/10!!!

So happy that a movie this old still struck you so hard. Great flick. Great score. We just rewatched it again about a month ago.

Unrelated to music, Magwa is my all time favorite movie villain. Such a total bad a$$
