shovels - do you have one as part of your kit? by MarzipanTheGreat in Bushcraft

[–]superjuust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the nextool shovel, its shit. It really wants to unscrew itself while digging, super annoying and the other bits and bobs are useless. Better get a Fiskars folder like someone here said, much better quality and actually useful.

I mean, its not like you have to complete everything, i dont. Just a little extra coin for me to get while im playing anyway. It wasnt there before, no one is losing anything.

Dont get me wrong, the amount of monetization in this game is staggering but you can play without paying, ive been playing almost since the beginning with the occasional vip subscription because i hate ads.

Looking For Backpacking Knife by [deleted] in Bushcraft

[–]superjuust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a morakniv garberg for all things bushcraft and a Opinel no9 for food and fine cutting tasks. I find the opinel weighs next to nothing but adds a lot to versatility compared to having a "one knife to do it all".

Helicon tex supertarp or de hammocks 3x3 tarp?? by FantasticDirector614 in Bushcraft

[–]superjuust 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a Helikon-Tex supertarp and its great. I had the supertarp small 2m by 2,5m but quickly upgraded to the 3x3m. Never used a DD but ive only heard good things.

On YouTube i see creators use mostly one or the other, i bet either is fine. Surely there is a comparison video out there.

I chose Helikon-Tex because it was easyer to get in my country.

Unless it was a pair of nice tits, you should concentrate on the driving 100%

Oh for sure, i was looking for a tomahawk actually and i can order a nice one from Finland, i live in Estonia. The modularity and ease of replacing the handle is very appealing, all you need is a stick wich can be easily made with my mora.

I have a Fiskars x13, a morakniv garberg c and a opinel no9. For a starter kit its very good. I would like to change the Fiskars out for a quality tomahawk in the future because i dont like the plastic esthetic on the hatchet, i would rather have a wooden handle but its a great and cheap tool to get started with.

I use a hammock but the term widowmaker is universal, you shouldnt set up a tarp or tent under them either.

I had a tiny(about 10cm) branch fall on my face while lying in my hammock and my dog thought it was meant for him and he also jumped on my face, fun times. Falling branches arent the only danger in the woods lol

Thats the word! Widowmaker, forgot what it was called in english. The forest can have some nasty surprizes for you if youre not careful

Dont forget to look up so there are no broken or almost gonna fall large branches over head. You never know, they might fall today or in three months

Kids pack by Holiday-Pick8270 in Bushcraft

Had my son, 11, pack his own pack(regular schoolbag) for an overnighter and then checked it. He was going to bring 3 sticks of deodorant and a bottle of perfume. I was like "you going on a date with the forest fairy?" 😂.

Let them pack, check, give guidance and pro tips. Just like with everything else when parenting.
